Enjoy the spectacular views of the lake and Jack Nicklaus designed golf course from the luxury of the extra large, south and west facing terrace of our lovely apartment in the superb new Hacienda Riquelme Golf and Holiday Resort. Set in the unspoilt countryside of Murcia, the resort is just 15 minutes from the Mar Menor with its miles of clean, safe beaches and great water sports facilities. The resort has a cafe, bar and supermarket, and the town of Sucina, with its tapas bars and shops is a 5 minute drive away. Three other Polaris World golf resorts are close by providing several restaurants and, of course, new golf courses to play. They are all accessible by free shuttle service. Over 20 swimming pools are located throughout this spacious resort, the nearest pool being just one minute's walk away. Security is excellent, with controlled access and patrols. Notes on prices
Prices are for the apartment per week or per night in UK pounds. Minimum stay 3 nights. Cleaning is charged separately and is 55 Euros per week, paid locally. Discounts are available for long winter stays - please contact us for a quote.
Changeover day
Changeover day is normally a Saturday, but we are flexible for holidays of less than a week. Check-in time from 4pm, check-out time 10am.
School summer holidays flexible changeover days for cheapest flights (15 Jul to 2 Sep).
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Air conditioning in both. Bedroom 1 with two single beds (normally made as a double), fitted wardrobes with internal drawer unit. Hairdryer. Doors onto terrace. Bedroom 2 with two single beds (can be double), wardrobe/drawers as 1. Extra cupboard. |
| Bathrooms: | Bathroom with shower over bath, WC, bidet and heated towel rail. |
| Kitchen: | Bright and airy kitchen has cooker, hob with extractor, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, etc. Iron and ironing board are in separate cupboard in bedroom 2, to keep kitchen nicely un-cluttered. |
| Utility Room: | Attached to kitchen is the covered, open-air utility room. Wall mounted central heating boiler, wall storage unit, washing machine, and plenty of space for drying towels after your swim. Also provided is a tub of buckets and spades to take to the beach. |
| Living Rooms: | The light and spacious lounge has a leather corner sofa to comfortably seat 5 plus an extra seat. There is an LCD TV with all UK channels, DVD/CD, selection of DVDs, CDs, board games and books. Internet connection in all rooms (buy card at shop). |
| Other: | The dining area in the lounge has a four place table for eating-in and there is a table and chairs on the terrace for breakfast and alfresco meals while you enjoy watching the play on the 11th green. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Bath towels, towels and all bed linen are provided and are changed weekly. Please bring your own beach towels. There is a charge of 55 Euros for cleaning and laundry, to be paid locally. Extra laundry can also be done for you at a small charge. |
Notes on accommodation
Full air conditioning includes both the bedrooms for relaxed nights. Central heating is also provided for the cooler evenings in the winter months. Friendly key holder will meet you at the gatehouse and familiarise you with the apartment. He is available at any time to help with questions and advice about the resort. Larger groups may be possible by renting several apartments - we have a network of contacts, please enquire.

Accessibility
The apartment is served by a lift which also goes direct to the underground car park. The apartment is not purpose built for wheelchair users.
Outside
First floor apartment with stunning views. Large terrace of all the different types of apartments on Hacienda Riquelme. L-shaped, South/West facing with a dining area to catch the morning sun and a lounge area to enjoy watching the sunset over the lake from the comfort of the rattan sofa and easy chairs. Lots of room to enjoy stretching out in the sun on one of the loungers. It is covered to give shade but, being mainly south facing, there is always a sunny spot. Underground car park provides secure parking and keeps your car delightfully cool. Swimming pools are numerous and nearest is just one minute's walk away. Loungers provided to take with you. Tennis courts nearby with a cafe open during the day. Polaris World resorts are finished to the highest standards, with palm tree avenues and a profusion of flowers and native plants for you to enjoy.
Coast/Beach
The apartment has a book with details of all local attractions and events, to help you make the most of this lovely area. The Mar Menor (20 min drive) has miles of sandy beaches perfect for children. It is also perfect for water sports, with sailing, kite-surfing, windsurfing, canoeing, cruising, scuba diving, etc all being available from several centres. You can hire a bike and cycle the palm-lined 5km path along the seafront at Los Alcazares, and enjoy the many tapas bars along the way.
Golf
Jack Nicklaus Golf Trail will ultimately comprise nine courses in a 25km area. The Hacienda Riquelme course is the fourth course to be completed, and is the longest and most challenging. The wide fairways are lined with olive trees and native pine trees. There are three lakes and plenty of bunkers leading to the greens. The other Polaris World courses are all only 10 or 20 minutes drive away or you can use the free shuttle service if you prefer. Discounted green fees for residents at all Polaris World courses.
Travel
Murcia airport 20 min away with direct flights from RyanAir, EasyJet, etc. Hire cars can be picked up at the airport. Alicante airport 55 min away by easy roads and has more flights, which can be even cheaper. Detailed map provided giving clear instructions of how to get to the resort - but it is a very simple 20 min drive. Our keyholder will meet you at the Gatehouse. Cheapest flights can be booked in the school summer holidays with our flexible changeover days (15 Jul to 2 Sep only).
Distances
SUCINA 5 min drive is the nearest small town with bars and shops and a very handy store for English groceries etc. MURCIA City has a fine cathedral and is a 30 min drive. CARTEGENA 30 min is an ancient Roman town with a wealth of history, a busy port and an interesting labyrinth of backstreets.
Further details
Hacienda Riquelme resort has an excellent supermarket, a cafe and a spike bar. This provides all the basics for an enjoyable stay. Next year the Hacienda Centre opens, providing restaurants, shops, health spa, etc.
There are plenty of restaurant in the area and the Polaris World La Torre resort is just a 15 minute drive and has several different restaurants providing fine dining for a special occasion.
Booking notes
A deposit of £75 is required to secure your booking, with the balance being payable 8 weeks before your holiday. A £100 security deposit is also required with the balance. This will be returned within two weeks of your departure subject to a satisfactory check-out report. Payments can be made by cheque or BACS. Cleaning is paid locally, 55 euros per week.
