Molino Malagon has been recently restored in a contemporary/rustic style. The spacious ground floor apartment offers 2 en-suite bedrooms and a large open plan living area comprising kitchen, dining space and lounge. The mill, which is off the beaten track, sits in its own secluded grounds and has easy access to the river San Juan which runs around the boundary of the property offering peace and tranquillity to its guests. Outside the apartment there is a patio with table and chairs for outdoor dining. Molino Malagon is a pleasant stroll from the village of Sabariego which has a couple of bars and a shop for basic provisions. The vibrant towns of Alcala la Real and Alcaudete are a short drive away, both having magnificent medieval hilltop castles and a wide range of shopping and dining opportunities. An ideal placed for the beautiful cities of Jaen, Cordoba and Granada with its international airport (1 hour). The mountains of the Sierra Nevada and the coast are within easy reach.

Kitchen: Fully equipped and spacious open plan kitchen with black granite worktops and island unit. Containing gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave/grill, kettle and toaster.
Utility Room: Use of washing machine within the main house on request.
Living Rooms: The large and spacious living/dining area is comfortably furnished in a contemporary style, with a wood burning stove for those cooler evenings.

Towels and linen are provided and changed weekly.

 

Notes on accommodation
The accomodation at Molino Malagon is flexible and is arranged as two separate but linked self-contained apartments. The spacious two bedroom and much larger three bedroomed apartments can be used separately or together for larger groups or families. The extensive property comfortably sleeps 10 to 12 people. Accessibility
The two bedroomed apartment is on one level and on the ground floor with double doors through to one of the bedrooms. For those with mobility concerns, assistance would be required for use of the shower rooms.

Outside
The mill sits in a valley surrounded by hills and olive groves. Outside the apartment there is a terrace with dining table, chairs and parasol plus loungers for relaxing. To the front of the apartment, an offshoot of the river San Juan winds its way around the property adding to the relaxing ambiance. Originally, this stream would have passed under the mill operating the mill equipment, some of which has been retained and can be seen in and around the property. Now the stream is used for the irrigation of this fertile valley. The mill sits within an acre of land containing a number of fruit trees, including figs, pomegranates and almonds. A wooded dell within the grounds offers additional and much welcome shade from the midday heat. The river San Juan flows around the grounds and steps lead down to the river which provides an opportunity to cool off, relax or explore by walking (bring your jellies!) up or down stream. It is deep enough in parts to take a dip. Look out for the fish.

Coast/Beach
The coast can be reached by car in approximately one and a half hours.

Golf
An 18-hole golf course is available all year round in Granada.

Skiing
The ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada are approximately one and a half hours from Sabariego.

Travel
Molino Malagon is within one hours drive of Granada Airport which has flights from Stansted, Liverpool and East Midlands airports (Ryanair). Malaga Airport is approximately 2 hours away and is served by most UK airports. The mill is only a short drive from Sabariego (1km.) but as it is off the beaten track we would be happy to meet you in the village if you prefer and you can follow us back in your car. The use of a car is necessary in this rural location.

Distances
The village of Sabariego is a pleasant and interesting 1km stroll from the mill. The historic towns of Alcala la Real and Alcaudete are within 15 minutes drive of the village. There is a bus from the village to both towns. The cities of Jaen and Granada can be reached within the hour and the magnificent city of Cordoba is less than one and a half hours away.

Further details
The nearby towns of Alcaudete and Alcala la Real have all the facilities you would need including supermarkets, banks, restaurants etc. Both have very nice outdoor pools for those who fancy a swim. The Jaen province is particularly ideal for those who enjoy walking, biking or exploring its rugged terrain. It is also an ideal starting position from which to explore the nearby provinces of Granada and Cordoba.
