A superior second floor penthouse apartment opposite the local 'fuente' where the locals collect spring water! Recently renovated to a very high standard with ceramic floor tiles throughout. There are two terraced areas to enjoy the outdoor life with four loungers, dining table, chairs, electric canopy and spectacular views. The modern fully fitted kitchen includes dishwasher, washing machine, ceramic hob/ extractor and fridge/freezer. The sitting/ dining room is very spacious and comfortably furnished with LCD television (with satellite), DVD player and Bose music system/ CD player. The main bedroom is air conditioned and has its own terrace.There is an en-suite with walk in shower/wc/ handbasin and storage. There is also a second air conditioned twin bedroom and second bathroom with bath with shower over, wc, basin with storage and bidet.

Changeover day is flexible. Well behaved pets considered. Smoking inside the apartment is not permitted- there is ample terrace space.

Bedroom 2. air conditioned, with 2 single beds, large pine wardrobe with shelves and drawers. Bedlinen and towels provided to both.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom to master bedroom. Fully tiled with walk-in shower, wc, hand basin and storage.
Main bathroom is fully tiled with bath and shower over with glass screen, wc, bidet and hand basin with storage.
Kitchen: A very well equipped modern kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, fan assisted oven, ceramic hob, extractor and granite worktops. There is a toaster and kettle. Double doors open onto a Juliette style balcony overlooking the fuente.
Living Rooms: Beautifully furnished with Chesterfield style sofa, two comfortable chairs, large coffee table, dining table and chairs (seats 6) and wood burning stove. French windows lead onto 2 Juliette balconies. There is satellite TV, DVD and Bose music system.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Cleaning is done once a week with the change of bedlinen and towels. Additional maid service can be arranged if required at local rates.

Accessibility
The apartment is on the second floor and accessed by two wide flights of stairs
(no lift) therefore no disabled access.
Local street parking is available.

Outside
At the rear of the property there is a very large spacious terrace with an electric shade canopy. Also there is a large dining table and chairs and four sun loungers from which you can view the local bullring, astounding countryside and the Guadiaro valley. There is another good size terrace adjoining the en-suite master bedroom with a further two comfortable rattan armchairs.
To the front of the building there are three small Juliette style balconies leading from the sitting room and the kitchen overlooking the main street and fountain, with wonderful views of the village rooftops and mountains behind.

Coast/Beach
It is about 1 hour by car to the Costa del Sol where there are many lovely beaches.

Special interest holidays
It is an excellent area for birdwatchers, hikers, photographers and painters or just to enjoy a relaxed way of life! A very popular area with cyclists. Ideal for touring with a car or motor bike.

Travel
Malaga and Gibraltar airports are both approximately one and a half hours drive. Jerez and Seville are approximately 2 hours drive. Car hire is recommended although not essential as the railway is nearby.

Distances
Estacion Cortes is 10 minutes drive from the apartment and is on the Algeciras-Granada rail line. It is about 40 minutes to Ronda by train. There is a taxi service in the village. Gaucin is 20 minutes by car and has narrow streets and views to Morocco and Gibraltar. A trip to Ronda 35km with Spain's oldest bullring takes you past Cueva de la Pileta and yet more wonderful scenery. Ubrique is also about 35km very good for buying leather (hand bags for ladies and gun cases for gents).

Further details
Cortes is a very user friendly traditional Pueblo Blanco with it's own bullring and amenities such as banks, internet cafe, supermarkets, restaurants and bars, municipal pool and gym. The locals are proud of their pueblo with its impressive scenery. Bordering on a vast cork forest- local industry includes harvesting the cork -still using donkeys. Brezo is also manufactured here from tree heather for making thatched sun shades and screens for gardens that are so popular nowadays. Ecology at its best! It is not unusual to see a horse tethered outside a bar in the local villages waiting to take the owner home! There is the fuente opposite the front of the apartment building where the locals collect natural spring water.
