The hilltop village of Frigiliana is 10 minutes from Nerja, a lively but family-oriented seaside resort, at the eastern end of the Costa del Sol. This recently built ground-floor apartment is in a four-block complex on a hillside just below the historic quarter of Frigiliana. Frigiliana is famed for its warren of steep narrow alleys, flower filled courtyards and hidden squares, with stunning views of the sea and mountains. There are many restaurants, cafes, and bars within easy walking distance that cater for a variety of tastes and budgets. The apartment is modern and well equipped, with a traditionally-styled exterior in keeping with the historic location. The flat has a small covered patio for sitting outside and a communal garden area around the swimming pool (18m). There is a large through lounge (11 metres/27 feet) and two good-sized bedrooms with built in wardrobes.

Changeover day
The preferred changeover day is Saturday, but we are happy to be flexible, especially outside high season.

Notes on accommodation
There are ceiling fans in the living area and the bedrooms, as well as two free-standing fans. There is an oil-filled electric heater and a fan heater for winter use. Other equipment includes a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, VCR, DVD player, and 13 Amp UK plug adapters. Please note that smoking is not permitted in the apartment and sorry, no pets allowed.

Accessibility
The property may not suit some people with disabilities as there are 30 steps up from the nearest car parking.
Outside
There is a 18m shared pool with sun terrace and dramatic views of the mountains, and down the valley to the sea. There is a small sitting area outside the apartment with barbecue and teak chairs, as well as 2 reclining deck chairs and 3 sun loungers to use by the pool.
Coast/Beach
The coast is 10 minutes' drive i.e. Burriana beach in Nerja with watersports, Torrox-costa which is better for young children, or Maro with more undeveloped beaches and coves.
Golf
Golf available in Velez Malaga (Baviera Course) about 15 minutes away.
Skiing
Skiing is available in the Sierra Nevada in the winter, about 90 minutes' drive.
Travel
Malaga Airport is only 50 minutes away. Transport to and from the Airport can be arranged. A car is highly recommended if you want to see the region but is not essential. There is a regular bus service to Nerja and a taxi rank in the Square.
Distances
Almijara national park -- ten minutes' walk through village; Coast/Nerja caves- ten minutes by car;
Malaga - 1 hour (high quality shops/Picasso museum/see the 'real' Spain);
Granada - 90 minutes (Alhambra/Albaicin/Cathedral); Seville and Cordoba 2.5 hours.

Local activities include:- Frigiliana fiestas; Hiking in Almijara national park; Horse riding; Water skiing and scuba-diving at Burriana beach; water park at Velez Malaga (15 minutes); Go-karting at Torre del Mar (15 minutes); Shopping in the large complex at Velez-Malaga includes chains such as Zara and Mango,with prices a fraction of those in the UK.
