Sleeps 6 (3 Bedrooms)
|
|
Traditional Estepona house in the old area of the town. Two minutes walk from shops, markets, beaches, restaurants and bars. Sleeps 6. Characterful family house, approximately 150 years old, which has been within the owner's family for 30 years. Original paintings and drawings by our late aunt, a local artist, adorn the walls of the property. The area has historic connections with the Moors and Phoenicians and the house is situated in one of the first-built streets in Estepona, in which archaeologists have located ancient artefacts. The house is located in a peaceful road, while at the same is in easy walking distance of the beach and town. There is a small supermarket and a daily produce market one minutes walk away. At a similar distance there are a number of bars and restaurants serving traditional Andalucian food and the stylish Plaza de las Flores with its orange trees, where you can sit outside at any time of day or evening, to enjoy a meal, snack or drink.

Notes on accommodation
This is a non-smoking house: please use courtyard and roof terrace. The house is in a traditional street: our neighbours are good spanish people who have lived here for many years. Please be respectful to them and avoid noisy parties outdoors late into the night. The house is in a narrow cobbled street: there is therefore no parking outside. Parking may be found one minute's walk away at the top or bottom of the street or otherwise a few minute's walk away in the seafront underground car park.
Accessibility
The property is situated on a gentle hill on a cobbled street. There is a step up from the road into the house. The kitchen and living room are one level. The courtyard and bedroom 3 are one the same level via a step through the patio doors.
The stone stairs make the property unsuitable for young children, as does the fact that the front door opens directly onto the street.
Outside
The house has a ground floor shaded courtyard, leading via steps to the sun terrace. The sun terrace is linked to the master bedroom by a walkway and has a table and six chairs.
Coast/Beach
The main beach at Estepona is two minutes walk from the house. The beach, La Rada, is 2 km long and received a Blue Flag award in 2007. The wide promenade is lined with palm trees, restaurants and playgrounds. Estepona has one of the oldest fishing fleets in Andalucia as well as a lively port and marina.
Golf
There are about 50 golf courses on the Costa de Sol, a number of which are within 10 minutes drive of the house. For example, Los Almendros golf course is 5 km away, Estepona golf course 6 km, Los Flamingos 10 km. There is a golf course here to suit every level and ability and some of the highest quality courses in Europe e.g. Sotogrande and Valderrama, are only a short distance from the house.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada mountains are to be found two hours drive from Estepona. Here you can ski and lessons are available for novices and improvers.
Special interest holidays
Whale and dolphin watching trips can be taken into the Straits of Gilbraltar. Diving lessons and fishing trips are available from Estepona Marina.
