Surrounded by stunning scenery our apartments are ideally situated to explore this relatively unknown corner of Catalonia just 2 hours south of Barcelona. Described by the Catalonia Tourist Board as a ‘new tourist area’ the ‘Terres de l'Ebre’ or lands of the Ebro offer a wide range of rural activities and sightseeing away from the crowds of commercialised tourist resorts. An area rich in history and culture, with stunning mountains, the magnificent River Ebro and a Mediterranean coastline this southern corner of Catalonia is a perfect place for a relaxing get-away from it all holiday or outdoor activity holiday.

Notes on prices
Prices are inclusive of gas, electricity, linen, kitchen and bathroom towels, use of mountain bikes and many more complimentary extras. There are no hidden extras such as 'compulsory final cleaning charge'. Please note that we are a legal and fully registered business and our prices also include IVA (Spanish equivalent of VAT).
Changeover day
Preferred changover day from Mid-June to early Sept is Saturday but we may be able to be flexible to suit flights -please enquire. All other times arrival day is flexible. Arrival time 4.00pm and departure time 10.00am.

Les Papallonas Apartment 2 (2nd floor -sleeps 5/7)

Les Papallonas accommodates up to 7 people. There is a large family bedroom with a double and a single bed (if required we can provide a cot and bedding, changing mat and potty free of charge). The second bedroom has 2 single beds and there is a double sofabed in the lounge. Next to the lounge is a spacious dining kitchen with a large pine table and chairs to seat up to 7 people. The kitchen area is fitted with modern units and has a full size oven with ceramic hob and extractor fan, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and full range of crockery and cooking utensils. Both the lounge and dining room have patio doors leading on to the front balcony overlooking the river. |

Notes on accommodation
Both apartments benefit from the following: Satellite TV (Sky freeview). DVD, CD/radio. Selection of CDs, DVDs, books and games. Washing machine, iron/ironing board. Ceiling fans in all rooms. Heating for the cooler months. Comprehensive tourist information. Bed linen and towels provided. Beach towels/mats, cool box and picnic ware to hire. Free use of mountain bikes. A large garage for anglers to store their tackle.
Outside
Els Ocells has a rear roof terrace with sunloungers and swing seat and a front dining terrace with river view. Les Papallonas has a balcony accessible from the lounge and the dining room. A small balcony also leads off the rear family bedroom. The property is only yards from the banks of the River. There is a recreation area alongside the river where you can take peaceful walks or enjoy a picnic using the free barbecue facilities.
Coast/Beach
A 30 minute drive will bring you to the golden beaches of the Costa Dorada. Take your pick from quiet coves, pretty fishing ports or the busy resort of Salou. For the young at heart, the adventure theme park of Port Aventura is only 45 mins away where you can enjoy an action packed day out of white knuckle rides,shows and entertainment. At just under an hours drive there is the Ebro Delta Natural Park with it's deserted sand dunes, lagoons, rice paddies and over 300 species of birds.
Golf
15 mins drive: La Figuerola - small but challenging par 3, 18 hole course carved out of the mountains. Driving range. Golf club hire. Bar and restaurant. 25 mins drive: Club Bonmont – superb 18 hole championship course with stunning mountain backdrop. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Golf club/trolley/buggy hire. Special interest holidays
Fishing - The River Ebro is renowned for it's trophy size carp and massive catfish. Guided fishing and tackle hire is available from local guides. Walking/Birdwatching - Birdwatching and hiking tours can be arranged on the Ebro Delta or in the mountainous Natural Parks of Els Ports or Montsant.
Travel
The nearest airport is Reus - a 45 minute drive. RYANAIR fly daily from Liverpool, London Stansted, London Luton and Dublin plus many charter flights during the summer months.
Barcelona Airport (El Prat) - 1 hour 50 mins drive. EASYJET, MONARCH, JET2, BMIBABY or many other major airlines.
A car is strongly recommended to get the best from this area. However if you intend staying local and don't want to hire a car we can provide airport pick-up and drop-off.

Being on the edge of a rural town, our apartments really do have the best of both worlds – the convenience of nearby bars, restaurants and shops, the River Ebro on the doorstep, spectacular mountains rising to the East and West, and unspoilt beaches only a 30-minute drive away. The Ebro itself is a premier fishing location famous for it's huge catfish and carp. The mountains are rich in wildlife and birdlife and have miles of trails for walking, cycling or horse riding. If you want to explore the regions history and culture we are centrally situated with good road and rail connections to discover the cities of Tarragona, Reus and Tortosa which all have interesting historic quarters as well as fashionable shops, cafes, and restaurants. In addition there are picturesque villages, castles and monasteries which against the stunning landscape provide plenty of subject matter for the artist or photographer. Mora d'Ebre also has a lovely public swimming pool with 3 pools and neat lawned areas. It is open all day from late June until September and is a few minutes drive from the property.

A deposit of 20% is required at time of booking. Balance required 8 weeks prior to start of holiday.

A comfortable and well-appointed apartment in a superb location. We came to the area primarily for birds and were not disappointed! In total 150 species in 9 days! And to finish we saw wild Ibex grazing at the roadside near the summit of Mount Caro. We’ll be back for more!
