Completely renovated and refurbished in June 2008, everything inside both apartments is brand new. The apartments are perfectly situated in the trendy El Born area of Barcelona. This picturesque and cultural part of the city with its vibrant café culture and bar scene is perfect for families, friends and couples alike. The very chic and fashionable El Born is sandwiched between Via Laietana and Barceloneta and is served by the metro stop Jaume I. The famous Las Ramblas and Barceloneta Beach are both a pleasant 10 minute walk away. However unfolding languidly just to the east of C./ Blanqueria is Parc Ciutadella. The grandest entrance to the park is the Arc de Triomf, passing through the grand gates and into this green, tranquil oasis provides a welcome respite from the city centre. One glimpse of this fanciful, Baroque-style fountain and you’ll probably guess Gaudí had a hand in its creation. If Picasso is more your thing, you are a mere 2 minutes away from the museum.

Accommodation
Check availability Picasso (1 x Bedroom - Sleeps 1-4)
Like its name-sake, the Picasso Apartment is a truly modern apartment housed in an old block, tucked down a medieval, winding street away from cars and motor-bikes and noise.
Situated in C./ Blanqueria in El Borne and on the third floor, (no lift) this 1 bedroom city pad can sleep 1-4 persons with comfy twin beds that can be left separate or pushed together in the double bedroom and a large double sofa bed in the lounge area which also houses a flat TV screen with UK Sat TV which includes BBC, ITV, C4, C5, music and kids channels and UK radio and free WI-FI.
Unusually there is also a small but separate dining area with seating area for 4. However with a cosmopolitan cafe culture and a lively bar and restaurant scene on your doorstep, dining 'al fuera' is much more the thing to do all year round.
Should you wish to whip up a tortilla or two the kitchen is fully equipped too.

Check availability Dali (2 x Bedrooms - Sleeps 1-4)
Like its name-sake, the Dali Apartment is a truly modern apartment housed in an old block, tucked down a medieval, winding street away from cars, motor-bikes and noise. Situated in C./ Blanqueria, on the third floor this apartment sleeps 1-4 people.
There are 2 x double bedrooms, the first one with a small double bed and the second one with twin beds that can be pushed together to make a double, or left separate as 2 x singles.
Please note however that bedroom one is an internal room and doesn't have a window. To sleep 4, only families will be considered due to the size of the apartment. In the lounge there is a flat TV screen with UK Sat TV which includes music channels and UK radio & free WI-FI.
And a small but sufficient dining area with seating for 4. However with a cosmopolitan cafe culture on your door-steep, cooking will be the last thing on your mind. Although off course the kitchen is sufficiently equipped should you have the desire to whip up tortilla or two!

Further details
A mere 5 minutes away and unfolding languidly just to the east of the apartment is Parc Ciutadella, this green, tranquil oasis provides a welcome respite from the city centre. Built in the late 1860s on the site of a former military fortress (ciutadella), the park was artfully designed to offer Barcelona’s citizens an experience of nature (shady corners, paths and greenhouses), recreation (rowing boats on the lake) and culture (2 museums). The 1888 Universal Exhibition was held here and in preparation the city’s great Modernista architects were brought in to work their magic. Lluís Domènech i Montaner created the eye-catching Castell dels Tres Dragons (today the Zoological Museum) and a young Antoni Gaudí helped design the flamboyant Cascade Fountain. The zoo is also found here in the park and there are 2 play areas for children.
Small, intimate, friendly and funky, 'Born' (as those in the know call it) is where just about everything fashionable is happening now - in art, clothes design, interior decoration, smart restaurants, cool cocktail lounges and chic wine bars. The heart and soul of this community is the wide open, tree-lined Passeig del Born. From the thirteenth to the seventeenth centuries, this was pretty much the main square of Barcelona, the site of the city's public festivities, which included jousting tournaments, carnivals and even the burning of heretics during the Inquisition. At one end of the Passeig is an impressive metal and glass structure, the former Mercat del Born covered market, while at the other end is one of the most important Gothic churches in all Catalonia, Santa Maria del Mar. Although the Boquería, on the Ramblas, may be the city's most famous food market the recently refurbished Santa Caterina market is as impressive and dining there is a real treat.
