500 year old Village House with Vine & Flower-filled Terrace
Sleeps 4 (2 Bedrooms)

|
This exquisitely renovated and re-vitalized village house lies in the heart of the highest (alt 1.300m) of the seven Moorish white-washed villages that make up La Taha. A delightfully peaceful setting within the Sierra Nevada Natural Park overlooking the Contraviesa mountain range and down the Trevelez valley towards the Mediterranean. The house itself is renovated to a high standard in traditional style for maximum comfort, spacious and well-equipped, tastefully decorated with an harmonious mix of antique and local furniture, hand-made floor tiles and chestnut-beamed ceilings. With its large salon and charming terrace it is a delightful home to return to after a day out or to simply sit and while away the time relaxing on the terrace listening to the countryside and the shepherd bringing home his flock.

Distances
Pitres (1km) is 2 mins drive away or 5 mins walk downhill where all amenities are available. Public swimming pool surrounded by shady lawns for picnicing at 5 mins drive. Granada, the Alhambra Palace and Albaicin approximately 75 mins. The coast is at 1hr. drive (to Salobreña). Trevelez, highest village in mainland Spain, 15 mins. Poqueira valley and its pretty white-washed villages and craft shops 10 minutes drive or 1-2 hours very pleasant walk along GR7.
Further details
At 2 mins drive Pitres offers a good sized supermarket, bank & cash machine, 24-hour medical services, bars & restaurants, local bakery and a friday market. At less than 5 mins. drive is a public swimming pool surrounded by lawns & picnic area with adjacent bar/restaurant. In the height of summer there are various outdoor concerts to enjoy and many a local village fiesta.
Please do NOT confuse Capilerilla (generally, a quiet hamlet) with Capileira (a busy tourist village) which is at 10km distance and on the well-trodden tourist coach path in the Poqueira valley. However, these pretty villages with their craft shops and bars are at an easy distance (10 minutes drive or 1-2 hours very pleasant walk away) to enjoy whenever you please.
Horse-trekking & day-rides, paragliding & professionally guided mountain walks/climbs are just some of the activities on offer in the area.
An ideally situated village for walkers & nature lovers as in every direction leading out of the village there are various paths, including the royal GR7.
