Outside
The apartments are set in 130,000 m2 of landscaped sub-tropical, shared gardens which include man-made lakes and a free form horizon pool and sun bathing area. There is a sunny, private terrace with a table and chairs and sun bed.
Coast/Beach
The long sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol are only a ten minute drive away. A little further on and there is a favourite beach for kite surfers. 15 - 20 minutes takes you to the Playamar beach of Torremolinos site of many TV summer specials.
The port of Benalmadena is about 25 mins away with shops, yachts and the Sea Life Centre.
Going celebrity spotting in Marbella and the world famous Puerto Banus is about a 45 minute drive.
Golf
The Costa del Sol is world renowned for its golf courses. The nearest course, (about 5mins) is Lauro Golf and is a walkable par 72 with 27 holes. Alhaurin Golf is about 15 minutes drive away, again a par 72 with 18 holes. Buggy hire is available and advisable! There are over 60 other golf courses on the coast stretching from Sotogrande to the east to Velez Malaga to the west, suitable for all levels of player, all within easy reach! They are set in some stunning surroundings, with views to the mountains or coast, but all with one thing in common. The sunny dry climate of the region makes golfing possible and enjoyable all year round!
Skiing
The Ski resort of Sierra Nevada is only about 2 hours drive away with a possible 87 km of pistes suitable for all levels of skiing.
Special interest holidays
Step away from the beach and you can discover a Spain you didn't know existed.
For artists and photographers this area is a paradise! There is inspiration all around from gnarled 100 year old olive trees to vibrant hibiscus and birds of paradise, Andalucian horses, bird life, or just the beautiful mountain landscapes or seascapes.
For historians Malaga is a wonderful city and is a port of call for many of the ships cruising the Med. . The birthplace of the great Picasso, the Picasso museum holds may great works of art and that alone is worth a visit. Add to that the imposing cathedral and there is much to see. In addition you have La Alcazaba, a major landmark in the area dating back to 700 although much of the structure belongs to the 11th century. From the top of the walls, do not miss the very attractive view over the town and the port. Finally, make the most of your visit to the fortress by going to the archaeological Museum, the Roman Theatre and the Gibralfaro Castle.
Travel
Fly to Malaga International airport - only 15 minutes drive from Sol Andalusi.
Many budget airlines operate from regional airports to Malaga, including Thomsons. BMI Baby, Easyjet etc.
There are always local taxis available - fare should be no more than 30 euros.
Car hire is easily available and a wide range of companies operate out of Malaga airport
Distances
The beautiful town of Alhaurin de la Torre is about 5km from the resort and within a ten km radius there are many more towns and villages. Malaga airport is about 7km while Malaga city is approximately 15km.
Further details
There is a superb restaurant, tapas/snack bar and small supermarket for essentials on site and a full range of shops, banks, restaurants, etc in the local town Alhaurin de la Torre.
