Just 40 min drive from Malaga airport along the toll road, this light and airy, ground floor apartment is situated on a hillside location with views overlooking La Quinta golf lake and 5th hole, with mountain and hills backdrop. Part of the prestigious 'La Quinta' golf developments, it is built in distinctive Andalucian style and offers peaceful and exclusive surroundings, in the hills behind Puerto Banus, with its famous yachting harbour, beaches, shopping and nightlife just a few minutes drive. The promenade stretches to Marbella from there! San Pedro, a truly 'Spanish' town is a mile away. Few yards from the front door is a beautiful gated swimming pool area, set in tropical gardens with fabulous, uninterrupted views of the hills. Equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, child's pool, showers and changing/toilet facilities. The apartment has its own large, private, covered balcony, equipped for eating outdoors, and with chairs for sunbathing.

Changeover day
Changeover day can be flexible, according to availability and your preferred flight date and time. Arrival and departure times of day are negotiable, according to availability and preferred flight times etc.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a queen sized bed.
Bedroom 2 has twin beds that convert to a double if preferred.
A put-u-up bed can be provided for an extra eg child.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathroom to bedroom 1 luxury marble with bath, shower, twin basins, vanity units, bidet and toilet.
2nd bedroom has shower room adjacent, luxury marble with shower cubicle, single basin and vanity unit, plus toilet.
Hairdryers provided.
Kitchen: Top quality cooker, hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave provided. Fully equipped with all glasses, crockery, cutlery, saucepans, dishes etc...for at least 4 people. Also tea towels etc.
Utility Room: Equipped with quality washing machine and separate drier. Also, ironing board and iron (hall cupboard) and airer.
Living Rooms: Large lounge/dining room with full width patio windows/door to balcony. Built in wood burning stove, thermostat for air-con/heating, leather 3 seater settee, 2 armchairs, TV/video/DVD, Sat/English free view. Dining table/4 chairs. Marble floors and rugs.
Other: Balcony can be accessed from 1st bed and lounge and is south facing, with side views over a golf lake and hills. It is very private for sunbathing and meals alfresco! The bedrooms are both equipped with extensive fitted wardrobes and drawers.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
All towels and linen are provided(except pool towels!). Thorough clean before provided, plus beds made up. Maid service/cleaning DURING stay is extra but easily arranged upon request. (Renters have the cheaper option to use utility washing/drying in apt).

 

Notes on accommodation
No smoking allowed please. Parking spaces are in front of the apartment, which is on a hillside, but a cul de sac and therefore little traffic and a peaceful 'retreat'! There is a comprehensive information folder (and maps) provided, as there is so much to do, so many restaurants, shopping and places to visit and explore eg children and adults will love the pool area, balcony and gardens. Then to visit the Costa del Sol beaches, water sports, water parks and for example, Selwo Park, which combines animals and adventure playground.(Towards Estepona) Inland, I can recommend 'touring' around for adults eg to Ronda (ancient hilltop walled town), within an hour's distance; farther afield, to Seville, Granada, Cordoba; Gibraltar is a must for a day trip or, close by, walk to the 5 star hotel, Westin La Quinta, adjacent to which is the golf club and brand new tranquil 'Arabian nights' type spa! There are markets available on most days in local towns (eg Puerto Banus on Sat).

Accessibility
Firstly, a car is essential for this holiday. The apartment is situated on a hillside and the slope is not suitable for wheelchairs in my opinion.

Outside
The apartments are set in 2-3 storey white Andalucian style buildings set on a picturesque hillside and landscaped in beautifully maintained gardens to a high standard. Mine is entered at the ground floor level, whereas the balcony area appears to be at first floor level, with a sloping away landscaped garden at the back. The balcony is equipped with 4 cushioned wicker chairs and glass topped table for alfresco dining; there are 2 reclining sunbeds and 2 folding canvas seats and a small barbecue.
The swimming pool and child's pool area in a scenic tropical garden, are just a few yards walk uphill from the front door; this is a gated private pool with all facilities for the small community of owners eg sunbeds, shades, showers, changing. The pool is open all year but is not heated, which is generally no problem in the climate of Costa del Sol!

Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches start at about 1 mile distant. The N340 coast road to access the whole of the 'Costa del Sol' is about 1mile distant, so a car is needed but there are so many choices eg Puerto Banus, 1 mile, Marbella is about 5 mins from there by car (or on foot along the promenade is excellent from P.B. to sample beach 'sardinas'/variety restaurants!) I tend to go by car on the toll road to Cabopino, 20 mins (and play tennis at Club del Sol, Calahonda), before 'chilling out' at that beach.

Golf
Overlooking golf course! The apartment is part of the 'La Quinta golf' development-offering 27 holes. There is an enormous choice of courses to play in this, the main golfing area of the Costa Del Sol. The club house is passed on the way up to the apartment and is adjacent to the 5 star hotel where there is a driving range, golf shop and all facilities for players and non-players, plus spa and children's child minding.

Skiing
2.5 hrs. drive to Sierras.

Travel
Malaga Airport 40 mins only by toll road. Car hire essential when staying at Altos de la Quinta, as you have left the tourist trail and have become an 'independent traveller', staying in an exclusive residential area.

Distances
It takes but 5 mins to drive into San Pedro for petrol, provisions, mingling with local Spanish in pavement cafes, eating out in numerous friendly restaurants. Also try nearest Pueblos Blancos, such as Benahavis, Istan...etc a few minutes drive away. Market on Saturday in Puerto Banus, 5 mins away.

Further details
There are local supermarkets within half a mile, restaurants throughout area and all facilities in both nearby San Pedro del Ancantara and Puerto Banus, a mile away eg for bank, cashpoints, post office, chemists, more supermarkets. See information folder in apartment for local facilities nearby.
