Casa Moratilla is situated on the edge of Otivar, reached down a level track of about 0.5km. It is very secluded yet features all modern conveniences. It enjoys an extremely sunny aspect and is ideal for relaxing vacations or as a base for walking within the adjacent stunning National Parks. Otivar offers a handful of restaurants and bars, a bank, small supermarket, bakery, and notably, very friendly locals. The village is 10 minutes (level) walk from the house. Set within 6 acres of fruitland guests are free to explore the land though care should be taken as the ground is sloped and therefore terraced. The farmer will often bring fresh lemons, oranges, avocados, plus others, for the guests to enjoy (when in season). Journey time from Malaga airport is around 1 hour, almost all by Motorway. Granada airport is about the same. Views of the nearby mountains and valleys from the house and terrace are truly breathtaking. The coast at Almunecar is only 15km drive.

Notes on accommodation
Portable heaters are provided for out-of-season rentals.
Parents with very small children should note the land is terraced and has some steep areas as such close supervision would be required when walking about the land.

Accessibility
The house is reached down an unmade track, though this is quite level. There are no specific provisions for disabled access, though entry to the house itself is level (no steps), as is access to the pool/terrace area. Toilet facilities are on the ground floor.

Outside
There is a feature barbecue on the terrace. There are 8 new good quality sun loungers on the terrace. There is a covered pergola over the outdoor (teak) dining table seating 8. The pool measures 7 x 4m with the depth at 7ft (deep end) Roman steps lead into the pool.

Coast/Beach
The coast is 15km and is easily reached in around 30 mins. Almunecar has 2 main beaches plus a few smaller ones. Whilst not sandy as such they are easily walked on with tidy gritty like stones. A very pretty marina is situated nearby at La Herradura, with a good selection of bars and restaurants.

Golf
The nearest golf course is about 20km away at Motril, taking around 40 minutes to reach and bookings can be made in advance. Many more golf courses are available around Mihas, Granada, Marbella etc, all reachable easily as a day trip.

Skiing
The ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada are quite close by, taking around 1 hour 20 minutes to reach by car. The journey is mostly motorway to Granada, then the local road to the resort. It is well signposted to and from the house.

Special interest holidays
The location of the house offers a number of options, but relaxation will be the obvious attraction once there. Contacts are in place with local walking experts who are able to give guided walks through some outstanding local scenery in the national parks, or indeed provide maps for one to explore.
Boat trips, fishing, diving and water skiing can all be arranged around Almunecar.

Travel
Local airports are Malaga and Granada. both are just over 1 hour from the house. The journey is mostly motorway.

Distances
Otivar is nearest village (<1km). Almunecar is nearest town (15km). Motril is nearest city (25km) with hospital. Distances are a close approximation. Malaga and Granada both around 75km.

The house is extremely well situated to reach all conveniences, as well as to take advantage of the superb peacefulness and natural attractions the region has to offer.
