This very spacious 3 bedroom ground floor apartment is located within the private Los Almendros complex on the renowned Valle del Este golf resort. It is decorated in colourful Moroccan style and is ideal for golfers and non-golfers alike. It is equipped to a very high standard with plenty of storage in the bedrooms. Why not enjoy an early-evening BBQ while you watch the golfers grapple with the challenges of the long par 5 fourth hole? The large communal pool is located in beautifully landscaped garden and never gets too crowded. In 5 minutes you can be on the first tee, on the driving range, in the spa or taking refreshment in the many restaurants and bars. For the keen walker there is a nature trail around the whole resort with many excellent vantage points over the resort and down to the sea.

Outside
The terrace and garden have an outdoor table and chairs and a BBQ. The large communal pool sits in a beautifully landscaped garden and is never overcrowded. The complex has its own paddle tennis court for the exclusive use of the residents (equipment can be hired from the pro shop at the hotel).
Coast/Beach
It's a 10 minute drive to the coast. At Vera Playa there are 8km of blue-flag white sand beaches. Valle del Este has its own Beach Club where you can swim in the saltwater pool, relax with a drink or dine at one of the two restaurants. Watersports including windsurfing, kitesurfing and scuba diving are available locally. Mojacar Playa (15 mins) features many beach bars where you can while away the day and at night comes to life with clubs and discos for the younger visitors!
Golf
Valle del Este golf course has been very carefully designed by Jose Canales and is one of Europe's best desert-style courses, being both attractive and challenging to play. It has already hosted several tour events. The course is superbly integrated into the surrounding landscape and makes great use of indigenous vegetation. The multiple-choice tees are positioned on small raised platforms surrounded by volcanic rock and the fairways are just wide and generous enough to be relatively forgiving. Water features on a number of holes just to add to the fun! Most golfers conclude that it is 'by no means a walk in the park' but that, on a good day, par is realistic on all holes. On course refreshments are regularly provided by a travelling buggy. There is an excellent pro shop and a very good resident bi-lingual pro. As well as Valle del Este, you also have the choice of playing at Marina de la Torre, in Mojacar, Desert Springs (about 25 mins away) or Cortijo Grande (about 15 minutes away).
Travel
Valle del Este can be reached from Almeria (45 mins), Murcia (70 mins) or Alicante (105 mins). We recommend you hire a car from the airport and can provide recommendations.
Distances
On the resort there is a spa, beauty and fitness centre in the 4-star hotel and a commercial centre with bank, bars, restaurants and shops. The nearest town is Vera - about 5 mins away. It's a typical Spanish market town, beautifully preserved and restored, dating from the 16th century. Garrucha, a fishing port with beaches, is 10 mins away. Mojacar (15 mins) has good shopping and there are fantastic views from the old village perched high on the hills.
Further details
There is a huge choice of restaurants in the surrounding area, ranging from traditional Spanish to Chinese, Italian, Argentinian and Thai. Details are included in the Information Pack provided in the apartment.
Most of the local towns have market days where it is fun to search for bargains. Spain has many public holidays and attending a local village fiesta can be a very enjoyable experience.
For the budding Lewis Hamiltons Garrucha has an excellent go-karting track.
The nature park reserve "Cabo de Gata" lies 30 mins to the south of the resort and is well worth a visit as are: Nijar, Agua Amarga, Cabernas and Bedar.
Booking notes
A deposit of £100 is required on booking (non-refundable in event of cancellation unless property is re-let). Remaining balance, including £200 breakages deposit, in due 6 weeks before arrival. The full deposit will be returned to the hirer 2 weeks after departure date subject to a property inspection.
