These factors combine to create a large and wonderfully elevated terrace with a magnificent view. Below you the whole of the resort is laid out with the green of the golf course and the cream and terracotta low-rise buildings surrounding the marina. Changeover day
Changeover day is frequently Saturday by client choice and sometimes Thursday for people flying in to Almeria. Changeover day is flexible as long as it fits in with existing rentals on either side.

Notes on accommodation
The elevated south-facing location of the apartment ensures that there is a good flow of cooling air from the front to the back of the apartment. Air conditioning is fitted throughout and additionally 3-speed ceiling fans are fitted in all bedrooms. Even though the daytime temperatures in mid-winter frequently exceed 20 degrees centigrade, in a marble-floored apartment, the late evening temperatures can require the help of overall heating which is provided. If a gourmet evening “at home” takes your fancy, the terrace, the dining area and kitchen are fully equipped to allow a substantial and stylish dinner party for 6 to be undertaken. The local area provides a wide variety of seafood, meat, cheese, wine, fruit and other wonderful produce to match your style and enthusiasm when eating-in. Eating-out in style is just 3 minutes away in the car or 15 mins if you want some gentle exercise and a glance at the milky-way to guarantee a good night’s sleep.
Accessibility
Access to the apartment is by lift. Inside the apartment the first floor is accessible for a wheelchair but the upper floor is only accessible by a staircase. There are terraces on both floors.
Outside
The main swimming pool, set in a large garden and surrounded by grass, shrubs and trees, is 150 feet long with a separate pool for children. From mid-June until mid-September the pool is daily watched over by a lifeguard. There is an adjacent play area with apparatus for young children. Other facilities include paddle tennis court, 5-a-side football, boules and table tennis. The apartment’s 2 large terraces provide sufficient space for a relaxed party accommodating numerous sunbeds, extra chairs and the dining table laid with a buffet and drinks. If you enjoy the combination of a stunning sunset, happy hour and a comfortable front row seat on the terrace then your early-evenings are already fully booked. The sunsets over the sea and the Sierras should not be missed.
Coast/Beach
The numerous natural beaches and the marina are 3 minutes away by car. Alternatively a pleasant 15 minute walk will get you there with a slightly higher heart rate but absolutely no trace of guilt – in fact, all the main features of the resort are within walking distance. If you were happy to just pass a few days in the resort just around the apartment, the terrace, the gardens, the huge pool, the beaches and the marina you could quite easily manage without a car.
Golf
Almerimar has an excellent 27-hole golf course designed by Gary Player in 1976. The Clubhouse is friendly and the attractive restaurant provides excellent food for hungry golfers. Clubs, trolleys and buggies are available for hire. The Golf Club is clearly visible from the apartment terrace about 800 metres distant over two fairways the nearest of which is just a stiff par 3 distant and some 75 feet below. So it’s 2 minutes in the car – it could not be more convenient. 30 minutes by road to the east towards Almeria are two more excellent courses, La Serena at Roquetas and La Envia just 10 minutes north of Roquetas in the mountains – not for the faint-hearted! An hour to the east is the new and highly rated Valle d’Este golf course and another 15 minutes east brings you to the legendary Desert Springs course - Almerimar is a golfer’s paradise!
Skiing
The apartment is just 2.25 hours away from the great ‘Sky Station’ ski village resort near Granada in the Sierra Nevada range reached through breath-taking scenery on top class mountain motorways. The Ski resort has ski-runs going up to 3,300m altitude and a very attractive ski village with ample high quality accommodation at reasonable prices if you fancy staying over for a couple of nights. In the Winter and Spring, one-day skiing excursions are quite practical and excellent fun – leave the apartment at 9am. Arrive at 11.15am. - hire your skis - have an early lunch and be on the slopes with your half-day pass soon after noon. Ski until 5pm. if you’re keen, have a nice relaxing apres-ski tea or something stronger and be back in Almerimar by 8pm. A nice warm shower – dress and be out before 9pm. for dinner in one of the best restaurants overlooking the marina for less per head than a Friday night pub meal in the UK.
Travel
Malaga is about 200km to the west and the journey to the airport by car currently takes around 2.25 hours. Almeria Airport is 45 minutes to the east and is now served by EasyJet, Ryanair and Monarch among others. The Ancient City of Almeria is about 35 minutes away. Murcia is 3 hours to the east. For a real adventure you can reach Almerimar from the ferry at Santander in the north in around 12 hours with breaks. Alternatively, make this drive really relaxing and get to know the real Spain.

The marina area (3 large marinas) is the focus for all the local shops and the supermarket. There are also banks, car rental shops and a good sprinkling of other retail therapy opportunities. There is also a wide variety of restaurants to suit your mood from good value tasty Spanish cuisine through seafood, Chinese, Italian to gourmet food served in great surroundings overlooking the water.

I am a Chartered Engineer in my mid-sixties now retired and living in Torquay, Devon in a beautiful garden apartment 400 feet up above Meadfoot Beach overlooking Torbay with an uninterrupted view of the bay, Berry Head, Brixham and Paignton. The climate here is exceptional and this gives you a clue to my preferences in that both my UK and Spanish Homes (Ref S920) share unique climate and great views in unique locations. I love to play golf, sail and walk so these activities are always high on my priorities. Torquay offers these and many other activities providing a perfect holiday location for all the family.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Almerimar is a beautiful resort in both winter and summer with no extremes of temperature. Summer generally is in the high twenties occasionally the low thirties and winter is 16 to 20 with beautiful sunshine enabling you to sunbathe on the terrace until 5pm even on New Year's Day. There is always a pleasant breeze especially on the 3rd and 4th floors where the apartment is situated and there are 346 sunny days in the year. The resort is safe, peaceful, friendly and very Spanish. These factors combine to make it a place where I love to be at any time of year. The golf and clubhouse are superb and the proximity of the mountains gives me the option of great skiing with great golf on my doorstep. Everywhere is within walking distance and there is walking and cycling on your doorstep.
Unique benefits of the property
Almeria airport is a charming, compact modern airport which is very easy to use only 40 minutes drive from the apartment. Car hire at the airport is reasonable and easy to arrange. The motorway journey is simple and when you arrive at the apartment there is never a parking problem. The apartment is on the two top floors (so not overlooked) accessed by lift or stairs and is very easy to use with a very large living space, a fully equipped kitchen, three double bedrooms, three bathrooms and two terraces. The upper terrace has a loggia on one half plus a large built-in BBQ. La Ladera is widely recognised as being the best quality development in Almerimar, The terrace views are jaw-dropping and the huge 50 metre pool and gardens are the best in Almerimar. It's there to be enjoyed.
