El Palomar is a thriving village surrounded by hills and fruit groves just a half hour´s drive from the coast. This is not Benidorm, you are not likely to hear any English spoken around here! It has a true community spirit with many fiestas throughout the year, not only here but in all the surrounding villages. It has the usual bars and restaurants, bakers, butchers, village store, chemist, doctors, and a large wooded park with tables and chairs where the locals cook their paellas alfresco. (There is also a new restaurant and bar in the park), but what makes this village special is its beautiful pool. Just 5 minutes walk away. All newly refurbished, the house is in a quiet street next to one of the many squares where parking is easy and only a few steps to the front door, the lovely countryside and the beautifully kept village pool which has every amenity. Jacuzzi, sunbeds, parasols, kids pool, toilets, showers, bar and restaurant.

All linen and towels are included with the exception of beach and pool towels. Linen and towels cleaned weekly.

Notes on accommodation
Constant hot water supplied by gas boiler. Electric fire in lounge. Although the property is child friendly, there are stairs, and the roof terrace although safe would not be suitable for unaccompanied toddlers. Stairs have handrails on one side apart from the 3rd floor.

Only half an hour's drive to green flag beaches of Gandia and Piles.

Travel
There are many cheap flights available to Alicante and Valencia airports both just an hour's drive away with car hire available. A car is recommended.

Further details
The Fiesta Patronal commences the 3rd week in August and lasts throughout the week, with lots of different events both for adults and children. There is a candle light procession through the village following the statue of their Patron Saint, traditional dancing, a Moors and Christians parade, a spectacular fireworks display and of course, live music. Albaida is the nearest large town 5 mins drive away with banks, supermarkets, medical centre, food hall, Tuesday market, many shops and bars and restaurants, tourist office, a covered swimming pool out of season but is open air during the summer months. It has a two week fiesta beginning of October with many events, parades and fireworks culminating in their Moors and Christians parade on 9 October.
