Comfortable modern 2 bedroom ground floor apartment situated in the small rural village of La Hayuela in Cantabria. The village boasts 2 bars, one of which offers lunchtime food, and a pharmacy and is also served by delivery vans several times a week. There are lovely walks in and around the village with stunning views of the mountains and over to Comillas and the coast. 10 minutes drive to nearest beach (Comillas), 5 minutes to Cabezon de la Sal with supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants and leisure complex, approx 1 hour to Potes and 30 minutes to Santander airport.

Please contact us by email and we will provisionally reserve your dates for 7 days. To confirm your booking we will require a 20% non-refundable deposit, the balance being due 6 weeks prior to your stay. A refundable damage deposit of £100 will be required with the final payment.

Accessibility
Although there are no special adaptations for wheelchair users there are no steps in the apartment or leading up to it(but please note the shower is over the bath, not walk-in).
Outside
There is a terrace and large lawned garden. The garden is enclosed and therefore secure for children. There is a play area adjacent to the apartments with swings and roundabout for small children.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Comillas (10 minutes drive). San Vicente de la Barquera (20 minutes drive) has 4km of lovely golden sands and is very popular with surfers. Oyambre, another very popular beach, is situated between the two. There are also many other beautiful beaches in the area.
Golf
There are many golf courses within easy driving distance of the apartment, with travel times ranging from 10 to 45 minutes. The nearest include Rovacias Golf near Comillas (9 hole, 10 minutes) and Campo de Golf Santa Marina at San Vicente (18 hole, 20 minutes) which was designed by Cantabrian Seve Ballesteros.

Santander Airport (RyanAir from Stansted) and ferry (Brittany Ferries from Plymouth) 47.5km.
Asturias airport – Oviedo (easy Jet from Stansted) 173km.
Although there are occasional buses through the village a hire car is recommended.

Further details
There are many shops, restaurants and bars in nearby Cabezon de la Sal and Comillas. The medieval village of Santillana del Mar has a wealth of history and a wide range of restaurants to suit all tastes. La Hayuela is surrounded by lovely countryside and there are many local walks along quiet country lanes. The Cantabrian coastline is beautiful with many lovely beaches. San Vicente de la Barquera is a delightful seaside town with a castle and 4km of lovely golden sands ideal for surfers and family days out. There is also the opportunity for horse-riding and adventure activities. Inland Cantabria is also well worth exploring for its stunning scenery and pretty villages. The mountains of the Picos de Europa are a one hour drive away with Fuente De (cable car), the mountain village of Bulnes (reached by funicular or a 3 hour hike) and the Cares Gorge all meriting a visit. There are a number of golf courses within easy reach of the apartment, the nearest adjacent to Oyambre beach (9 hole). Books, maps and information on the area are to be found in the apartment.
Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required on booking. The balance + a refundable security deposit of £100 is payable 6 weeks prior to arrival. The security deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks of departure, assuming no breakages etc.
