The apartment, which was sympathetically refurbished in 2006, is on the third floor (top) of an 19th century town house in the heart of the historic old town of Villajoyosa (joyful town). The living area completely opens out onto a sunny terrace, which overlooks the rooftops of the old town down towards the Mediterranean Sea. Smoking is OK if it is outside on the terrace.

Flexible changeover days. Check-Out time 11.00am Check-In time 2.00pm. (if the apartment is not immediately booked before or after your stay we are flexible on the above - just ask and let me know your flight times)
| Bedrooms: | 1 bedroom with twin beds. There is a ceiling fan and floor standing fan for the hottest months! Plenty of wardrobe, storage and drawer space. |

| Kitchen: | There is an American style kitchen which has an electric oven and ceramic hob, extractor fan, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, iron plus sauce pans, plates and cutlery etc. |
| Utility Room: | In the utility room there is ironing board, mop, brush and dustpan, storage shelving, broom and additional chairs. Previous guests have left beach umbrellas, body board, beach ping pong set etc. You are welcome to use them. |
| Living Rooms: | In the living room there is a sofabed, lamps, easy chair, table and chairs, wall and overhead lighting, air heater/cooler, coffee table, TV/DVD, DVDs to watch and CDs to listen to, CD player with radio, books. (The TV is not connected to an aerial). |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
There are bath/hand towels (not beach), sheets, duvets and blankets. Thorough cleaning of the apartment and washing of towels and bed linen are included in the rental price. |

The apartment is most suited to adults.
Accessibility
The apartment is on the third floor of a terraced town house with no lift and is not suitable for disabled access. The old town is full of narrow pedestrianised street to protect against the sun and slopes down towards the blue flag beach.
Outside
Outside there is a very sunny terrace with a table and beach chairs plus a sun umbrella, washing line, utility room and plant troughs.
Coast/Beach
You can walk to the beach in under 2 minutes together with all the shops, cafes and restaurants. The beach is huge and has blue flag status. There is a fishing port/marina at one end and the old town at the other. You can park free along the seafront and there is also a new seafront underground car park, 90 cents per hour)
Special interest holidays
Villajoyosa is well located for all sorts of special interest holidays. Guests have stayed in the apartment who enjoy hiking, climbing, cycling, walking, the sea, the variety of superb restaurants/cafes all within walking distance, its proximity to Benidorm with its great shopping, nightlife and theme parks, the closeness of the mountains and just getting away from it all, the unspoilt nature of the town, the Valor chocolate factory and cafe/giftshop to name but a few of the attractions.
Travel
Alicante airport is approximately 45 minutes away by car and there are lots of car hire companies available at both the airport or let me know and I can arrange a car hire for you at a discount rate. There is an good train and bus service available. I can send you details of some excellent websites.
Distances
Villajoyosa has a railway station linking the whole of the coast from Alicante to Denia. From Benidorm, only 10km away you can travel to any part of Spain. There is also a bus service along the coast.
Further details
Villajoyosa is full of small interesting shops, an indoor food market and an outdoor market on a Thursday morning. (Map in house book in apartment) The best stall is the herbs and spice one!
La Cala de Finestrat, which is very popular with both the British and Spanish, is the next seaside town along the coast and has a street markets on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
For the best exchange rates bring cash or sterling travellers cheques with you (not euro cheques as you will be charged commission to cash them). There is KBs British Money Exchange near to the beach in La Cala or more if you wish to go into Benidorm.
Booking notes
A non-refundable 40% deposit is required to confirm your booking. The balance of the rental plus a £100 refundable breakage/damage deposit to be paid 60 days before start of holiday. Assuming no breakage/damage the security bond is automatically returned 7 days after departure. Minimum stay 6 nights. There are absolutely no extra charges.

‘This fabulous apartment has to be seen to be appreciated. Great location in the Old Town with a lovely sunny balcony - perfect for sunbathing or dining ( a real treat for those of us living in the UK!).... We were also delighted to hear the faint sounds of the local orchestra rehearsing in the evenings while gazing at the stars (us, not the orchestra!)... The apartment itself is spotlessly clean, is tastefully furnished and very comfortable. There are lots of little home comforts included such as a wide selection of DVDs and books to choose from. We found the owner, Michael, to be very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nothing is a problem and he is always available for advice. The beach is only minutes away and there are lots of lovely bars and restaurants nearby. Highly recommended!’
