Take in the wonderful evening sunsets from our large terrace. Private parking with two lifts providing access to our apartment. Floodlit pool and small children's pool.Five star hotels, a marina, restaurants and bars feature in this lovely unspoilt area and are just a short stroll away. A super 18 hole golf course with driving range and two bowling greens are within a five minute drive. Windsurfing, sailing, boat trips, cycling and fishing are all available.

Changeover day
Can be flexible but preferably Saturday arrival. The apartment will normally be ready for occupation from 2pm on the day of arrival until 10am on the day of departure although this can be varied if there is no changeover on the day of arrival.

Notes on accommodation
Our west facing apartment is elevated providing wonderful views from the terrace of the sea, beach and the countryside. There are fans and electric radiators in the living room and bedrooms. An extensive selection of books, CDs and DVDs are provided and games. Tennis rackets/tennis balls for the tennis court. Adjustable beach chairs for use on the beach or terrace.
Two lifts service our apartment. Private reserved parking space for your car.Security gate key and electronic gate key provided for access. Our property is maintained and serviced by a well established English property management company located in Ayamonte, just a 5 minute drive away. All the contact details will be provided before your visit. There is a house book at the apartment with all the details about the local area, including maps.
Accessibility
Two lifts service our apartment.The whole of the Isla Canela area is very flat and ideal for walking and cycling.
Outside
We have paid extra attention to the terrace area to ensure that this is a comfortable and relaxed outdoor space. Terrace blinds have been fitted to both side and front elevations of the terrace to ensure that the al fresco experience is an enjoyable one. Sliding mosquito screens have been installed to the patio doors leading onto the terrace. There is a very large shared swimming pool (with shower areas) and a small shallow childrens pool. There is a childrens play area, tennis court and two paddle courts. The magnificent sand duned beach and paved promenade is accessed directly via the front gate of the apartments. The gardens,trees,shrubs and flowers are beautifully maintained. Fountains and water features, pergolas and seated areas provide a relaxing environment. The pool, fountains, walkways and promenade are all lit in the evening.
Coast/Beach
In this instance, beach front does mean beach front. No roads to cross, no traffic, just a step out from the front gate and you are on what can only be described as one of the most magnificent and tranquil beaches in Spain. A gentle sloping ocean floor provides a safe area to bathe.The beach is cleaned daily throughout the season and stretches for 7km.You can stroll down the beach along the waters edge or walk the promenade that runs uninterupted along its full length.
Golf
The 18 hole Isla Canela golf course is just a 5 minute drive from our apartment. It is a flat course but provides plenty of challenging water hazards to avoid.The course is populated with eucalyptus, olive and orange trees and is beautifully maintained. You can hire clubs,golf trolleys and buggies.There is a driving range, 2 bowling greens, a swimming pool, golf shop and a wonderful colonial style clubhouse with restaurant, bar and outside seating areas. Discounted rates for renters. There are nine other golf courses in both Spain and Portugal that are all within a 30 minute drive of Isla Canela, including championship courses.
Travel
Nearest airports are Faro (45mins) and Seville (75mins). We would strongly recommend that the hire of a car is essential to fully enjoy your holiday and the areas amenities.
Distances
The nearest town to Isla Canela is Ayamonte (pop 17,000). Just 5km distance away. Isla Canela and Punto del Moral are all within an easy stroll from the apartment. Both offer a range of bars and restaurants. Seville, Huelva, Jerez (sherry capital of Europe), Cadiz, Gibraltar and the Portuguese Algarve are all within easy reach.
Further details
A beautiful and typical Andalucian fishing town offering a wide variety of shops, restaurants, coffee shops and lively tapas bars. A traditional market in the centre provides all your freshly caught fish,meat and vegetables. There is a marina and a daily ferry service to Portugal. Magnificent palm tree lined squares, whitewashed houses, Baroque churches and beautiful displays of flowers are in abundance. Seville, Huelva, Jerez, Cadiz, Gibraltar, Portugal are ideal for a day out and within easy reach.
Booking notes
25% deposit of the total rental payable in sterling (cheque) when making your booking. Balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to departure including a £50 security deposit that will be refunded once the apartment has been checked and the keys have been returned.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
For years we considered owning a property abroad but never actually believed we would ever find the right combination of a property we liked, location and at a price we could afford. We had looked at properties on the Portuguese Algarve and in France as well as visiting a number of overseas property shows. In 2004 Joan saw a small advert in the Mail on Sunday for properties in Isla Canela. We knew nothing about the area but were attracted by what we read and after checking on-line we decided to make a visit. We fell in love with the area as soon as we arrived. Peaceful, beach front, non-commercial, attractive apartments, a well maintained area, a gem of a traditional Spanish town, true Spanish culture and charm and wonderful warm sunshine. We could not believe our luck.
