The apartment is on one level with private entrance. 10x5m pool (shared with owners), sunbeds and umbrellas, outside shower and BBQ area with seating for 12 all set in landscaped gardens. From the door way of the apartment you can explore the countryside by car/bike or just walking without ever having to touch a main road, the only traffic you might meet is the local farmer and his donkey going to market! A short walk takes you to go-karting / resturaunt/bar and tennis club. A 2 minute drive takes you into the town of Baza where you can find everything you need for a totally relaxing holiday, or if you like it a little more excitement the outdoor discos are not to be missed. A small car ride brings you to the beautiful Lake Negretin with its man-made beach at Freila where you can swim, fish or hire a pedalo. 4 restaurants situated all around the lake all worth a visit, especially the thermal baths, where for 2 euros you can relax in constantly heated mineral water all year round.

Outside
The apartment and house is set in half an acre of private gardens with 10x5m Roman pool, outside shower and large BBQ area with seating for 12 people. The apartment has a private patio area with table, chairs and umbrella. Sunbeds , tables and umbrellas are also placed around the pool for your use.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach to us is at the Lake Negretin 5 minutes by car. 1 hour drive will take you to the beautiful white village of Mojacar and its beaches with a little more commercialised tourism. Or to the totally unspoilt Cabo de Gato (in the province of Almeria) with miles of deserted sandy beaches and coastline.
Golf
The nearest golf courses are an hours drive on quiet Motorways.
Skiing
Ski-ing in the Sierra Nevada is 1 hour's drive.
Travel
The nearest airport is Granada which is 1 hour. Almeria which is 1.5 hours away or Alicante which is 2 hours away. A car is essential to get the best from this holiday.
Distances
Baza is a 2 minute drive.
Granadas shopping/cultural centre, the Alhambra Palace, and the ski slopes of Sierra Nevada is 1 hour's drive.
Guadix market and Purullena with its traditional pottery stalls and Cave Museum is a 20 minute drive.
The riverside walk in the gorge at Sierra de Castrill is about a 30 minute drive,
And the beautiful scenery of the "Natural Park Carzola" the largest protected natural park in Andalucia is 30 minutes away by car.
Further details
In the town of Baza you can find shops, restaurants, bars supermarkets,banks, chemists, parks and a weekly street market. The Easter Fiesta and the September Fiesta are so typically Spanish you could be forgiven for thinking you had gone back in time. Take time out at the Cave Hotel Jatib to have a Moroccan influenced meal in a truly amazing setting and watch the sunset over Baza.
For the kids there’s Karting Baza a great place to eat/drink and watch them have fun or Ulysses Park, ball/play park and bar. For the 16 plus theres two indoor discos, a very lively outdoor disco, and numerous bars.
Every Tuesday and Thursday during July/August there is free activities for children of all ages in the park situated next to a lovely family bar.The municiple pool also runs activities and evening entertainment.
In the town centre you will find the "Plaza Mayor" with its beautifull architecture including the museum,and built in 1529 "Iglesia Mayor" (cathedral).
There are countless places of interest both cultural and architectural. You can visit the cave homes in Guadix with its local pottery stalls and see how the Spanish used to live, and how many are returning to, including many English.
For the more adventurous there’s horse riding, quad biking, mountain biking or walking in the Sierra de Baza, our own picturesque mountains, where you can find pre-planned walking and biking routes at the tourist centre with its bar/restaurant.
