Completed in 2007 and built to a very high specification, this apartment is comfortably and elegantly furnished inside and out. The terrace is equipped with gas BBQ, table, 4 chairs and 2 sun loungers. There is a shared pool set in gardens with mountain views. The lounge has two leather sofas plus additional seating, 32 inch flat screen Sony TV with Satellite offering all BBC and ITV channels plus UK radio stations. It is 10 minutes drive to the beaches at Nerja, 50 minutes from Malaga airport and an hour and a half from Granada and the Alhambra and the ski slopes. There is a regular bus service to Nerja and, if you decide to come without a car, airport pickups can be arranged. The village has won awards for its beauty - narrow, sometimes steep cobbled streets lined with flowers the year round. Full air-conditioning, or central heating in winter, is offered at a small extra charge. The nearest golf course is about twenty minutes drive away.

Notes on accommodation
Full air-conditioning, or in winter, central heating, is available for an additional £15 per week. There are about 8 weeks in summer when air-conditioning is essential to comfort and, although winter is usually sunny, the evenings and nights are often cold enough to merit central heating. A wireless router gives internet access throughout.

Accessibility
The property is accessed by steps and the village streets are very steep in places.
Outside
Large shared pool in landscaped gardens with mountain views. At 35sq.m, the terrace is much larger than average and south facing. It has views over gardens down to the sea at Nerja. An umbrella and a pergola are provided for shade, essential in summer, together with four chairs a table and two sun loungers. There is a large gas BBQ - easy to use!
Coast/Beach
Nerja boasts two blue flag beaches, Calahonda and Burriana, about 10 minutes drive, 15 minutes by bus, from Frigiliana. It also has an indoor swimming pool. Both are family friendly with lifeguards in season. There are also many quiet coves along the coast.
Golf
The Costa del Sol is famous for its high class 18 hole golf courses, all accessible from Frigiliana. The nearest is about twenty minutes drive away, with two others within an hour's drive.
Travel
Malaga airport, served from numerous points in the UK, is about 50 minutes drive away. Car hire and taxis can be arranged on arrival or, if you would like recommendations, please ask. For those who prefer not to drive, we can arrange an airport pick up and the village is well served by buses and taxis to Nerja. Dedicated drivers can do Bilbao to Frigiliana in a day, but this is not recommended!
Distances
Nerja, a popular family resort with fine beaches is 10 mins, 4 miles away. Malaga City, with its historic centre and Picasso museum is 40 miles, 50 mins away. Granada, Sierra Nevada and Alhambra 1 hour 30 mins, all 3 can be done in one fascinating day. Advance booking essential for the Alhambra. Seviilla and Cordoba, less than 3 hours and Ronda about 2 hours. Mijas 1 hour 10 minutes, Marbella 1 hour 30 minutes, Gibraltar 2 hours 15 minutes. Times and distances with a little help from Tom-Tom!
Further details
Frigiliana has a good range of shops from souvenir shops through artists studios to florist, butcher, fishmonger and several small supermarkets. There are several banks with ATMs (not all free!) and a tourist office where they speak English and are very helpful. Nerja has several large supermarkets. Village tours, horse riding, mountain walks can all be arranged locally. Restaurants range from the very modest to the upmarket but not, by UK standards, expensive. You could eat out well every day for a fortnight without repeating yourself! Nerja caves, one of Spain's most visited attractions are 10/15 minutes drive. The village itself is a very popular day trip from many of the coastal resorts. Its quaint cobbled streets are steeped in history, detailed on a series of ceramic plaques about the village.
