This terrific apartment is in one of the best locations on the La Torre resort. It is fully air-conditioned throughout. The terrace overlooks the communal pool area, with its toddler and main pools, and beyond that, one of the more challenging lakes of the course. There is a reserved underground car parking space and the block is surrounded by splendid, well maintained gardens which are now starting to mature. There is a lift if you don't fancy taking the stairs.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment has central heating for the winter months and would make an ideal place to stay if you were thinking of retiring to Spain and wanted to try it out first. We will consider letting for the entire winter. No smoking indoors.

Accessibility
Although this is a penthouse apartment on the 3rd floor, access is very good with no steps to the front door and a lift to all floors. There is a step onto the terrace.
Outside
Terrace has selection of comfortable sun loungers to take to the pool if you want. There are outdoor chairs, table, parasol and barbecue, making it ideal for al fresco dinning.
There are numerous swimming pools around the resort, as well as Jacuzzis, landscaped gardens, water features and places to sit and enjoy the stunning surroundings. We think the pool we overlook is the best because of the direction it faces. Also, it is well protected from even the most horrendously bad shot from the course!
Coast/Beach
The beautiful beaches of the Mar Menor are 15 minutes drive away. The region has one of the greatest yearly number of sunny days, an average temperature of 21º C, and 250 km of shoreline over two seas: the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. La Manga, Mazarrón and Calblanque are great beaches. Water sports are available including diving, Jet skiing, windsurfing and sailing.
Golf
La Torre itself is a par 68 designed by Jack Nicklaus. A beautiful open course with tight fairways, big bunkers, treacherous greens and numerous lakes. Great fun. When the wind blows against you, some of the lakes can be a tough carry and, if you waver from the straight and narrow, you need to be good in sand! That said, as with all the Polaris World golf courses, they are designed to be enjoyed by both beginners and experienced players.
The course has a full range of facilities including a 5* clubhouse (with bar and restaurant), driving range, putting green, club and buggy hire and a golf academy (take a bunker lesson!).
There are many other courses in the region but whilst staying at La Torre you can take the courtesy bus and play Mar Menor and El Valle.
La Manga with its three great courses is only a 30 minute drive away and well worth a visit. There are loads of other great courses in the region.
Travel
Murcia (San Javier) Airport is approx 15 minutes by car.
Alicante Airport - approx 45 minutes.
Covera Airport (under construction) will be approx 20 minutes away.
Local trips to Murcia (25 minutes) and Cartagena (30 minutes) are well worth it.
Distances
Everything you need is on the resort. My 18 y.o. daughter and her friends stayed without a car and had a great time. But, to get the best from the region, I recommend hiring a car. You can get some good deals from Internet searching.
Booking notes
We need a 25% deposit on booking. The balance is then payable 6 weeks prior to arrival. A £200 security deposit is payable with the balance and will be returned after the final clean. For parties of 4 or less, there is an additional cleaning and laundry cost of £80 per week (or part thereof). For parties of more than 4, there is an additional cleaning and laundry cost of £100 per week (or part thereof).

I stayed there with my 3 daughters and my mum for 9 nights in August this year, and I have to say their apartment was beautiful. It had everything you needed and then some, and was meticulously clean and well presented. The outside eating area was a real bonus and came complete with plenty of chairs and a large table as well as a brolly and sunbeds. The kitchen is really well equipped with ample cutlery and crockery. The setting is lovely as the pools are a stones throw away and they are kept beautifully clean. JR
