The beach is only a minutes walk (100m) away and there are four restaurants in this small and quiet village. The beach club (for use by residents and guests) has a large swimming pool, tennis courts, table tennis and a multi sport area for basketball and football. Estrella de Mar is set in a rural location and surrounded by farmland and open countryside, it is beautifully laid out with parks and gardens, wide streets and typical Spanish architecture. No building stands more than two stories high. The palm-lined promenade with views across the Mar Menor to La Manga makes a lovely walk anytime but especially in early evening. The neighbouring village of Los Urrutias is only 5 mins walk away and has a supermarket, hardware shop, newsagent and a number of cafes and restaurants. The Mar Menor is a huge salt-water lagoon, the ideal location for all types of water sports and very safe for swimming. Its warm, calm shallow waters shelve very gently making it ideal for children.

Living Room with sofa bed
Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes, mosquito nets on the windows and air-conditioning/heating.
Bathrooms: Upstairs bathroom with full bath and shower over, wc, bidet and sink. Downstairs shower room with wc and sink.
Kitchen: The modern kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, halogen hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle. It is well equipped with pots and pans, casserole dishes etc.
Utility Room: The utility area has a washing machine, sink, ironing board and steam iron. A rear terrace accessible through the utility room, provides outside space to hang clothes and towels.
Living Rooms: The living room is open plan to the dining area. There are 3 sofas (one is a double sofa bed) with seating for 7. A TV and DVD player are available, as are a selection of DVDs. The dining area has a circular table which may be opened out to seat 6.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen are provided (not beach towels). Linen will be changed and the property cleaned weekly. This is included in the price of the property.

 

Notes on accommodation
The property is fully air-conditioned both upstairs and downstairs. Large 25" TV for use with DVD player and selection of DVDs are provided. The DVD player will also play CDs.

Accessibility
The property is wheelchair accessible except for single step at front door. There is a double sofa bed on the ground floor and a ground floor shower room. Estrella de Mar and the surrounding area is flat so the walk to the beach, the promenade and restaurants are all on the level.

Outside
Outside in the attractively planted patio garden has a table with seating for 6, plus a traditional tiled table and seating. Set in a rural location and surrounded by farm land and open countryside Estrella is a small quiet village with a mixture of residents and holiday visitors. The village is beautifully laid out with parks and gardens, wide streets and typical Spanish architecture. A communal swimming pool, tennis courts and children's play area are all available at the residents beach club. Use of the pool is free, a small charge is made for use of the tennis courts.

Coast/Beach
Just two minutes walk (100 metres) will get you to the local beach at Estrella de Mar. The beach is very quiet and picturesque with views across the Mar Menor. It has great sand for making castles (if that is what you are into!) also, the water of the Mar Menor is incredibly warm throughout the year. The water is very calm and shelves very gently so it is ideal for small children. There are beautiful beaches in Los Alcazares (10 mins car) and in the Calblanque National Park (10 mins car).

Golf
LA MANGA CLUB, famous for its sporting facilities, is just 10km away. It has three top class 18 hole golf courses, a football centre that attracts premiership teams for winter training, tennis centre, mountain bike hire, hotel and spa. There are 7 other golf courses within a 30 minute drive to cater for all handicap levels and more are being constructed.

Special interest holidays
We run a watersports centre, Aqua Adicta and offer dinghy sailing and windsurfing lessons and kayak safaris. Sailing is suitable for children over the age of 6 and windsurfing for those over 8. Kayak safaris are suitable for children age 4 and above. Suitable for adults of any age!

Travel
Murcia airport (MJV) is only 15 minutes away and Alicante (ALC) airport is 1 hour. Both airports are served by both low cost and full service airlines making it easy for you to get there from your local airport. Flights to Alicante are available from most airports.

Distances
A 5km drive takes you to Los Alcazares, an old fishing town that has grown into a popular resort. Excellent shallow sandy beaches. Also come here for shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Cabo de Palos(12 km) has a lighthouse and a lovely old harbour well known for its fish restaurants. The old Moorish cities of Cartagena (20km) and Murcia(30km) are an excellent day trip for their shops, architecture and history (Roman ruins in Cartagena).

Security/holding deposit: £100 payable with booking. Full payment: required 8 weeks before departure. Other services: welcome packs, airport transfers, travel cots and highchairs are available at extra cost. Restrictions: no pets, smoking outside only, no single sex groups ,no groups under 25.
