This beautiful villa and attractive cottage are in the tiny village of Daimalos which is situated in the stunning mountains of Axarquia. The villa has a large private pool, lovely mature garden, large terraces and fabulous views. The houses are remote enough to enjoy the peace and yet convenient for many facilities. Competa is a local tourist spot with a beautiful square where one can sit and enjoy a glass of wine. It has many restaurants, cafes and craft shops. The coast is only 10 miles away and the seaside town of Nerja, with its lovely beaches and spectacular caves, is only a 40 min drive. The magnificent Alhambra Palace at Granada is only a day trip and Malaga is well worth a visit. Golfers can play at the new Baveira Course only 12 miles away and at Velez Malaga there is an Aqua Park for the children. There are lots of good quality dirt tracks nearby which provide great walks.

Cottage Daimalos (Sleeps 6, 3 Bedrooms)

This is a charming 200 year old village house which has been tastefully renovated. The master bedroom has twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with a large bath and shower over. From the bedroom there is access to a roof terrace with beautiful views. Bedroom 2 has twin beds. Bedroom 3 has a double bed. There is also another bathroom with a shower cubicle. The living room has seating for 6 and a large open fireplace. The kitchen has a 3 ring cooker and oven, a fridge/freezer and a dining table with seating for 6. |

Notes on accommodation
The English care takers live close by and are happy to help with advice on restaurants, places to visit or simply questions about the houses.
Located on the edge of the tiny village of Daimalos in the hills above Velez Malaga, this house looks out from its roof-terrace across a sheltered valley to a hill crowned with the ruins of a Moorish castle.
The properties can be let together by a large party of up to 8 guests in total and then all guests can then share the superb outdoor facilities.
Both house are not suitable for children under four.
Outside
The villa has a large private pool of 4x8m, BBQ, 4 sun beds and 12 garden chairs and a large table. It has a beautiful mature garden, full of flowers and fruit trees, including yuccas, bougainvilleas, hibiscus, oranges, lemons, figs and pomegranites. The extensive terrace area is partly shaded by a vine covered pergola and flowering trees, the rest is open for sunbathing.
The cottage has a vine covered roof terrace and views over the surrounding hills.
Coast/Beach
The coast is only 10 miles away and the seaside town of Nerja, with its lovely beaches and spectacular caves, is only a 40 min drive.
Golf
Golfers can play at the new Baveira Course only 12 miles away and at Velez Malaga there is an Aqua Park for the children.
Skiing
It is possible to ski in the Sierra Nevada in winter.
Special interest holidays
The houses offer a wonderful base to enjoy winter sun and walking in the stunning mountains of Axarquia. The cottage can be a wonderful cheap base for an out of season break.
Travel
The nearest airport is Malaga which is about an hour's drive from Daimalos. We can arrange car hire.
Distances
It is remote but convenient. The amenities of the coast, including several supermarkets, are readily accessible and for basic provisions one only has to go to the garden gate to reach the village shop and beyond it the local wine bodega. Nearby are several attractive hill-villages.

Booking notes
The rates quoted are per property. A deposit of £100 per week is required to confirm booking. A welcome pack containing some basic items will be provided.
Saturday changeover days are preferred, but we do accept that flights can be cheaper midweek and are willing to be flexible where possible.

We bought cakes, bread and biscuits from the little ladies' shop. We read the books from the shelves and there was a variety to choose from. Under the trees we played cards and chatted.'
