Mar de Cristal has always been known for its crystal clear waters and is perfectly situated to take advantage of the towns of El Algar and Los Belones and the harbour town of Cartagena. The development is just a short distance from the popular La Manga area where you can enjoy the top class La Manga Golf Club Resort with its lively international atmosphere and many amenities such as casinos, shops, restaurants and of course the three championship golf courses. Mar de Cristal has excellent safe beaches, a tiled promenade and a marina. The Mar Menor is indeed crystal clear and is a mecca for all kinds of watersports, sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, scuba or just swimming. Golf is never far away here with the World famous La Manga Club and spa being just a 5 minute drive, the 3 courses of Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas 20 minutes North. There are several protected areas within a short drive, Calblanque and Salinas bird sanctuary being 5 minutes away.

Apartment is cleaned prior to arrival and towels and bed linen provided. This can be changed during your stay however as washing facilities are available there would be a charge for this. Additional cleaning can be arranged but also an additional charge. |
Notes on accommodation
The accommodation is suitable for children although there are no cots or additional amenities. These could be arranged if required. There are heating units in the apartment although this is only required in winter.
Accessibility
The property is suitable for wheelchairs and there is lift access.
Outside
The large balcony can be used for dining and there is an electric barbecue provided. The balcony is sunny in the morning and is cooler in the afternoon This is good for relaxing with a drink after a day at the beach. There is a large pool which is shared, is very pleasant and is never really busy as the beaches are very close by.
Coast/Beach
5 minute walk to beach walking many coastal villages within 5-10 minutes driving. In addition the La Manga strip and the area of Playa Honda where many watersports can be practiced are within 5 minutes drive. There is also the famous mud banks where you can revitalise your skin by the healing properties of the mud for free. There are local markets daily and this is worth going to as produce and goods such as watches, handbags and shoes are very cheap.
Golf
The famous La Manga Club with 3 courses is a 10 minute drive away and there are new golf courses being built regularly in the area. There are 7 other prestigious courses within 20 minute drive. In addition Polaris World Resort Phase 1 and soon to be 2 is within 15-20 minute drive this includes a spa, many restaurants and bars, golf course, hair and beauty facilities and gymnasium. There is availability to use these facilities if required.
Travel
The nearest airport is Murcia. This is 20 minutes away by car. There is a taxi service however there are no buses direct from the airport to the area. Car hire is available and is very reasonably priced. Local taxis are fairly cheap and are radio controlled and reliable. There are local buses which connect various villages and the city of Cartagena and Murcia however the times change summer and winter. The prices are very cheap however. The train is 10 minute walk which goes direct to Cartagena.
Distances
The apartment is within the village with two other villages within 5 minute drive or 10-15 minute walk. There are other coastal towns of Los Uritas 10 minute drive, Los Nietos 5 minute drive and Los Alcazares within 15 minutes drive.
Further details
There are ample restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets and amenities within all villages. The city of Cartagena has nightclubs, casinos, large shops and has all sorts of city amenities such as cinemas, theatres and entertainment. The City of Murcia is larger and has even more amenities as well as very nice architecture.
Booking notes
Booking via owner by phone or by email. There will be a 50% deposit required at time of booking and the remainder must be paid 6 weeks prior to the rental time. Cheques or cash is required and this will require clearance from the bank. Where preferred bank transfers can be arranged.
