Casita with 10m Pool, Mountain Views
Beautiful Views Across the Vineyard to the Guardiaro Valley
Sleeps 4 (2 Bedrooms)

Our finca is set in an acre of land, cultivated with newly planted vines. The original name was “La vina de la Iglesia”, the Church vineyard, so to re-establish this, we have planted 1100 tempranillo and syrah vines. The 10m x 4.2m shaped pool, usable from April to October, heated by the sun, is surrounded by terracing. There are several large paved areas with plenty of seating spots & sun loungers for relaxing, sunbathing, dining or finding a shady place to read a book. The top terrace has a thatched roof providing permanent cover for outside dining including a gas barbecue and lounge furniture. At one end of the pool there is a shaded area, including a bar with fridge. Around the finca you will find quince, fig, plum, apple, pear, apricot, almond, olive and walnut trees, feel free to help yourself when fruit in season. Wander through the vineyard to the mirador and take in the views across the finca and the hills beyond.

Our local village has a baker, supermarket, general store and a bank (no ATM). There are 4-5 bars offering traditional tapas at non-touristy prices and the Hotel Gecko which has a bar and terraced restaurant.
Cortes de la Frontera is a larger town with more facilities. There are supermarkets, bakers, a covered market with vendors selling fruit & vegetables, fresh fish, meat & poultry and flowers, fishmongers, butchers, pharmacy, post office, several banks with ATMs and a medical centre. An open market takes place every fortnight on a Thursday morning with stalls selling fresh produce, clothes etc. There are numerous other smaller general shops selling local produce and gifts. You will also find a good variety of restaurants and bars serving local fare. Several bars do not have written menus so you can take the opportunity to practice your Spanish!
This area is ideal for country loving people with fishing, walking, tennis, horse riding, birdwatching, cycling, painting and photography to name but a few activities. If you wish to chill out in beautiful surroundings then this is the place for you. The proximity to Ronda and local white villages including, Cortes, Gaucin, Algatocin, Benarraba, Genalguacil, Benalauria etc, is excellent. Just driving around the countryside is rewarding as the views are spectacular.
The train from Algeciras to Granada, described as one of the “Great little railways of Europe”, runs through our valley and stops at Estacion de Cortes, 8 minutes walk away, en route to Ronda and Granada. Let the train take the strain and marvel at the beautiful scenery on the journey to Ronda. Many restaurants are situated adjacent to local railway stations and a great day out can be had by catching the train to them.

A lovely week relaxing and walking along the river. The finca lived up to the dreams! We especially liked eating at different tables at night. We enjoyed sampling the homemade fayre and your wine.
