The cottage is located on the southern slope of an old white village beneath an 11th century moorish castle. No car access, therefore no traffic noise, yet easy access to the shops down some steps. Set amongst Spanish neighbours, this property would suit those looking for a simple Spanish lifestyle. Step out of your front door and enjoy the sun and sea views. Excellent bus service to Granada and all the coastline.

Notes on accommodation
The second bedroom has a single bed, with another stacked under. Could sleep 2, but a bit of a squash.

Accessibility
Not suitable for those with mobility problems.
No vehicle access.
Several flights of steps down to street level, although takes 5 mins to reach.

Outside
Some garden furniture supplied which can be used on outside patio. This area is not exclusive to the cottage.

Coast/Beach
15 minute walk to main beaches. Long stretches of gritty sand, ideal for children, families etc.

Golf
10 min car ride to Playa Granada 9 hole golf course.

Skiing
One hour drive to Sierra Nevada ski slopes. Open til end of May.

Travel
1 hour by car to Granada airport. 1hr 30 min to Malaga airport.

Almunecar 12kms. Nerja 25kms. Motril 4kms. Granada 63kms.

A large variety of local shops and bars accessible both in the town and along the sea front.

About the owner
Hi, my husband & I retired to live here in Salobrena in Jan 2007. I worked in the UK as radiographer & Jim as a teacher. We aimed for a simple life in a wonderful climate & feel we have attained it. Our neighbours are all Spanish, but we have come to make some very good English friends here. We bought our property which includes the cottage below us. We let this cottage whilst at the same time reserve it for our friends and relatives. As described it is very simple & ideal for those wishing to have a relaxing holiday & discover the joys of Salobrena. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to combine a beach holiday with a bit of exploring.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We came to Salobrena after researching most of the Spanish coast from Barcelona & above to Almeria. Having spent a few days here we realised that this was what we were looking for - a genuine Spanish town with beaches available. Also the mountains for those who want to ski or hike. We enjoy the lack of Brits all living together in urbanization's & find learning the language a challenge. The unspoilt nature of the town is still a novelty & of course the climate is wonderful. We are always thrilled to be back after a spell in UK. The beach is a delight, a little crowded in high season, but in shoulder seasons there is nowhere better. If you like eating fish then this is the place to come.

Unique benefits of the property
Our cottage nestles in the white village just above the market area. One cannot park beside it, but there is a convenient car park a 3 min walk away. The beach is a 13min walk from the cottage and is suitable for children & swimmers alike. One can reach all places conveniently on the buses which stop in Salobrena 5min walk away. Granada & the Alhambra is a favourite day out,& further afield the Alpuharras give endless prospects for exploration. There is no need to be bored here in Salobrena.
