This is a beautifully appointed apartment situated in a quiet, secluded village nestling in the Sierra Nevada National Park. There are three double bedrooms, two bathrooms/toilets. The apartment has stunning views over the Sierra Nevada, and offers superb mountain walking, and access to a lush private garden and swimming pool (10 metres). Extensive shopping is possible either in the local town, Durcal, or Granada City which is 10 minutes drive away. Los Primos apartment is ideal for keen walkers, golfers, and mountain-bikers. Alternatively, it is the perfect place to write, paint or create. Local sights of interest include the historic capital of the Moors - the Alhambra and Generelife gardens. The old quarter is filled with excellent restaurants and Flamenco bars. Further afield you have easy access to the Andalucian Capital, Seville and the great Moorish mosque in Cordoba. Finally, the beautiful 'Costa Tropical' is only half an hour away with beautiful beaches. Bargains available!

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday pm, although we can be flexible. Departure is normally on Saturday am.

| Kitchen: | The kitchen has beautifully-crafted Spanish tiles with a gas oven and hob. It also has a big fridge/freezer and a wood-burning stove for those who like out-of-season holidays in the mountains. The dining area adjoins the open-plan living room. |
| Utility Room: | There is no utility room, but the apartment has a washing machine, iron and ironing board. |
| Living Rooms: | The open-plan living room has a dining table with 8 chairs, two settees and a sofa with large drinks table. The sofa can be made into a double bed, should the need arise. There is a full complement of cutlery, glasses, plates and all cooking equipment. |

Notes on accommodation
The apartment does not have air conditioning but enjoys the cooling winds of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Although there is wood-burning stove for out-of-season guests, it does not have adequate central heating. The apartment does have its own hot water supply, as well as wood-to-order nearby. The sheltered garden and pool allows a safe haven for children.
Accessibility
This apartment is not suited to people with disabilities due to the number of stairs and mountain location.
Outside
There is a beautiful, lush garden with a shared pool for neighboring guests. The pool is regularly cleaned and maintained and is about 10m in length - good for those early morning lengths! It also has a shower and a good supply of comfortable pool loungers. The pool also enjoys solar heating. Finally,there is also an ideal shaded are for resting/reading for the midday sun! The village itself is worth exploring and has many wonderful walks and vistas of the Sierra Nevada and surrounding mountain villages, such as Niguelas which is half an hour's walk away and boasts a music conservatory and baths which go back to Roman times!
Coast/Beach
The 'Costa Tropical' beaches are accessible via a half an hour drive, and offer a whole range of local beaches, hidden bays and fantastic fish restaurants and bars. The hidden bays are ideal for keen snorkelers and shell-hunters. Salobrena, the 'locals' beach', is particularly lovely with wide, sandy beaches and clear blue Mediterranean swimming. It also boasts the best sea food restaurant on the 'Costa Tropical' - El Penon- definitely worth sampling!
Golf
There are least 4 golf clubs within a 20-40 minute drive. The newest and nearest being Santa Clara Club at Otura. An 18 hole par 72 course opened in 2006, just 20 mins from this property. Spacious and excellently maintained with fast moving greens and a large variety of obstacles designed for every handicap. Beautiful Clubhouse with great facilities.
Within 30 mins you have the Granada Golf Club near Las Gabias, an 18 hole course and the Los Moriscos Golf Club at Motril a 9 hole course on the beach, both par 72. Both have unique challenges and settings.
The Medina Elvira Golf Course north of Granada is a 40 minute drive, also an 18 hole par 72 course with challenging water hazards, long and short drives, 3 lakes and pine tree groves.
Skiing
The famous, Winter-Olympic 'Sol y Nieve' resort is within a 45 minute drive, and offers beginners, intermediate and advanced skiing and snow-boarding facilities and equipment hire.

Los Primos apartment is ideal for mountain walking, painting and writing holiday's. So, if you really want to finish that novel you have been working on for so long, here is an ideal opportunity and location!
Travel
There are two main airports for the Los Primos apartment- Malaga and Granada. Acequias village is 1½ hour’s drive from Malaga Airport and about ½ hour’s drive from Granada Airport. Car-hire is virtually essential due to the mountain location of Acequias village, which is close to Niguelas and just off the Granada-Motril motorway. You can see Acequias quite clearly using 'Google Earth'!
Distances
The nearest town is Durcal, which is 5 minutes' drive away, and Granada City is only 15 minutes drive away. The motorway provides ease of access to all the major towns and cities, including Cordoba and Seville. Even Gibraltar and the beautiful villages of the Ronda are accessible within a day's drive because of the excellent motorways.
Further details
Los Primos apartment is brilliantly served by a host of excellent short, medium and arduous walks for the adventurous. As the village of Acequias is situated within the Sierra Nevada National Park, it is ideal for people who love nature, and, if lucky, you could spot Iberian deer, foxes and even Red Eagles. Or you might just like the night life of 'Monte Blanco'- the old quarter of Granada with its Flamenco-dancing and bars.
For those interested in Moorish culture, the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens on the outskirts of Granada are definitely worth visiting, as well as the magnificent mosque in Cordoba which is about 2 and 1/2 hour's drive away. If you are a fan of 'Driving over Lemons', then the unique sights and smells of the Alpujarras villages are only a short drive away. There is even a Buddhist monastery to visit and meditate in if you are that way inclined. For those who like city life, Granada has all the amusements that children and adults enjoy, including an excellent Science Museum and Flamenco Bars to suit the most passionate aficionados of the art!

About the owner
My enthusiasm for Spain and its mountains go back to my father's love for the country since the 70s. Having discovered the Sierra Nevada and the wondrous beauty of the Al Hambra, the ancient Moorish capital of Spain, in the the late 90s, we decided to buy a lovely private Apartment (Los Primos) in an old manorial residence situated in a Moorish-like garden with a pool. My Irish family and myself have owned the property since and have developed it for the use of enthusiasts for mountain-walking, cycling and skiing in Sl y Nieve. I am a homeopath and craniosacral therapist and run a Complementary Health Centre in the Isle of Wight, which is also an incredibly beautiful Island. We are always looking at ways to enhance our facilities and provision for visitors to 'Los Primos'. Thank you.
