In a wonderful setting, surrounded by olive, carob and pine trees. ‘Mountain View’ offers a cool and comfortable retreat from the heat of the Spanish sun. ‘Mountain View’ is the private apartment attached to our home with direct access to our grounds. There is a twin bedroom, ensuite shower room with toilet and wash hand basin a kitchen/living room of good size. The living room is well equipped with CD player, radio, TV and DVD player. Guests can enjoy two terraces, one for those alfresco meals in the shade of Pine and Olive trees, and one for soaking up the sun by the pool. Both are equipped with necessary furniture.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible. Bookings are normally from 4pm on day one to 10am on final day.
Accommodation

All linen included apart from towels which can be hired for 15 euros. Linen changed weekly. We clean the apartment at no extra cost as experience shows us that most of our guests are fair and reasonable in this respect. |
Notes on accommodation
The accommodation is unsuitable for small children as the grounds are terraced. Please note that the shower room / wc is accessed via the bedroom.

Accessibility
Property is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
Outside
Private Pool (6x4m), terrace, garden, BBQ, parking, garden furniture. The property has two terraces, one in the shade of pine and olive trees complete with BBQ and eating area and the other enjoying full sunshine by the pool. Pool is only shared with the owners.
Coast/Beach
The Costa’s Dorada and Azuhar are within a 30 min drive. Each Costa has its own identity but they both have quiet coves and long sandy bays. Or combine a visit to the beach with the Knights Templar castle and old town at Peniscola. Plus the theme park at Port Aventura is only 45 mins away.
Travel
Nearest airport is Reus 50 mins drive away. Barcelona and Valencia are approx 2 hours by car or train. A hire car is essential when staying at Mountain View.
Distances
Tortosa with all its bars, restaurants, shops and cafes is only 2.5km away. The nearest restaurant is 5 mins walk away.
Further details
Whatever your interests this area of real Spain has something for everyone. The city of Tortosa is rich in history. The castle of La Suda was built by the Moors and was fought over many times through the centuries. The Cathedral is regarded as one of the finest examples of Catalan Gothic architecture. The surrounding area is also rich in history with everything from Knights Templar castles to the fantastic Roman amphitheatre and Aqueduct at Tarragona.
The cities of Barcelona and Valencia are only 2 hours away. The Ebro Delta is a paradise for birdwatchers but you don’t need to stray from our grounds to see Hoopoes and the occasional soaring eagle. The mountains of the Els Ports National Park, the second largest in Spain, are just across the valley.
For the walker or cyclist we have flat routes, including the Via Verde (a disused railway that runs from Tortosa to the old station at El Pinell de Bray), to more demanding trails. There is something for everyone, regardless of ability. We are minutes away from the River Ebro so must mention the fishing. Some fine examples of Carp and Catfish have been caught here and the area is renowned for the sport. For nightlife we have fine restaurants, tapas bars and fiestas. There seems to be a fiesta somewhere around every week of the season.
The Catalan people need little excuse to take to the streets and party. Tortosa is host to some of the finest festivals, including the fabulous La Santa Cintra – a week long spectacular. If all this activity seems too much, then just come, laze around the pool, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Mountain View.
Booking notes
Deposit of 1/3 rental on booking, balance 6 weeks before tenancy. Number of guests must not exceed quoted capacity, unless by previous arrangement. Prices are per property, per week, and include gas and electricity costs. We strongly advise our visitors to take out holiday cancellation insurance.
