The house is set in a very nice tree shaded complex just south of Peniscola, and is 2 minute walk away from the sea. There is a lovely swimming pool on the complex, only 50m away from the sea with a poolside bar. The surrounding area has beautiful walks along the coast to explore coves, or into the unspoilt National Park (Sierra de Irta). Peniscola has 4km. of shallow sandy beaches which are ideal for small children (Blue Flag).

Notes on accommodation
There is central heating for rentals in the winter. The house and garden is shaded by pine trees, so is comfortable even in the height of the summer. The inner community garden which the house looks onto, is secure and away from traffic.
Accessibility
I'm afraid that the property is not suitable for wheelchair users, as there are stairs.
Outside
Patio doors from the living room lead onto a large furnished tiled terrace with awning and steps down to private garden with flowering shrubs. Private sun terrace accessed from bedroom 3 with pagoda. There is space for parking outside the house.
Coast/Beach
2 minute walk to beach and small coves, some of which are sandy.
Golf
The Panoramica golf course is situated just inland of Vinaros, approx 20km away.
Travel
Nearest airports are either Reus (sometimes called Barcelona or Tarragona), or Valencia both of which are just over an hours drive away on the E15/A7 motorway. Both airports are well served by the budget airlines. The use of a car is essential to enjoy all the local amenities, however there is a bus which runs into Town every 30 minutes, from outside the complex, during the season.
Distances
Peniscola is 2km away and the coastal road is a beautiful walk, running right beside the sea. Morella with its Roman aqueduct is 50km away. The Roman town of Tarragona, and 'Warner Bros'. Port Adventura (Disney-style adventure park) is an hour's drive away at Salou/Tarragona. Barcelona is 2 hours drive away.
Further details
There are numerous bars, restaurants around the Castle. Peniscola has supermarkets and numerous banks etc. There is a Carrefour supermarket about 12km from Peniscola. The River Ebro, about 50km away, is world renowned for large catfish.
The bigger towns of Benicarlo and Vinaros are close by, and have nice ports/marinas for eating out. There is a regular bus service into Peniscola, where the Fortified Templar Castle juts out into the Sea. In the old town there are numerous bars and restaurants to while away those summer nights. For youngsters there are disco's etc in the Old Town that stay open till dawn!
Peniscola Castle was used in the film 'El Cid'.
Booking notes
25% non refundable deposit is required on confirmation of the booking. The remainder must be paid 8 weeks prior to the date of occupation. Please note there will be a 50€ cleaning charge payable on your arrival.
For winter lets, there is a 50€ per week surcharge for central heating.

My wife and I live within 2kms. of the house, so are "on-site" should you experience any difficulties, and also have extensive first hand knowledge of the area. We will meet you at the house and show you how everything works.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I like being a little way out of Peniscola, which can get very busy in the Summer. There are plenty of little coves and beaches along the coastal walks near to the house. The view driving into Peniscola along the coastal road is second to none as the Castle seems to be rising from the sea. The 6Km sandy beaches between Pensicola and Benecarlo offer wonderfully safe bathing. There is an hourly bus in the Summer that goes between Peniscola - Edison - Font Nova and back. Also it's very beautiful to walk in the Sierra de Irta national park, which you can see from the back of the house.
Unique benefits of the property
The great thing about the house is it's proximity to the sea. It really is only a couple of minutes from either the pool or the little cove. Edison benefits from being shaded by the tall pine trees in the complex. Apart from all the birdsong at twilight they provide welcome shade in the Summer.
