Casa Buena Vista is situated in the beautiful and peaceful Lecrin Valley. A great holiday base for couples, families or holiday parties with varied interests. It is also an ideal bolt hole or romantic hideaway to get away from it all or for relaxing into Spanish village life the way it has always been. There is plenty to do though all year round! The location really is perfect being 40 minutes drive from the beach resort towns or quiet coves of the Costa Tropical, 35 minutes drive from the historic city of Granada with the imposing Alhambra Palace (one of Spain's most popular visitor attractions), 20 minutes drive from the Alpujarras with its spectacular scenery and mountain villages, and around an hours drive from the Sierra Nevada mountains with its ski resort and winter sports. Best of all, the views of the surrounding citrus groves, gorge, Sierra Nevada mountains (often snow-capped) and down the valley are hard to beat.

It consists of secluded sandy coves with rocky backdrops, and occasional broader bays housing the main resort areas. There are a vast array of beaches, from popular resort beaches to almost deserted coves. Some of the larger coves also have bars, restaurants and other facilities. You really are spoilt for choice.

Special interest holidays
Details of a number of walks from the door are provided with the joining instructions, including those along the long-distance GR7 footpath which passes through the village.
Travel
Casa Buena Vista is easily accessible, being around 40 minutes drive from Granada airport and around two hours drive from Malaga and Almeria airports, with flights from most UK regions. An airport transfer service can be provided at reasonable additional cost for those not wanting to drive. There is a bus service from the village operating several times a day to the historic city of Granada, and the neighboring village of Albunuelas (which has most facilities you are likely to require).
Distances
For car drivers, Saleres is around 15 minutes drive from the motorway running between Granada and the Costa Tropical (coast) at Salobrena. Driving time to Granada is around 30 minutes, and 40 minutes to the coast.
Further details
Several supermarkets can be found in the surrounding villages, the nearest being a walkable 1.5kms away. These villages also have bars, and there are some excellent restaurants (two within 3kms). Most other services and facilities are available within 3 to 6kms including petrol/diesel and several banks with cash points.
Places of interest include:
The Coast - see details above.
Historic Granada / Alhambra Palace - the historic city of Granada, dominated by the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains and the Moorish Alhambra Palace, can be reached in around 30 minutes drive from Casa Buena Vista or by bus direct from the village.
The Palace is one of Spain's most visited tourist attractions, due to its intricate Moorish architecture and the elaborately designed and immaculately maintained gardens. Guided tours around the Palace and gardens are available in English or you can wander around at your leisure.
The hilltop location of the Palace also affords stunning views of the city and the surrounding countryside. There are also excellent viewpoints of the Palace itself in the city.
Granada is an attractive city, with many interesting sights and attractions. It also benefits from all the usual facilities of a European city including theatres, cinemas, night clubs, hypermarkets, other leisure activities and excellent shopping.
The Albaycin area of the city is the African quarter, where there are a large selection of shops offering unusual souvenirs and clothing not readily available elsewhere. There are also a number of African bars and restaurants offering authentic and deliciously exotic food and ddrinks in a very different atmosphere.
There is also a water park in Granada to help cool the children down in the hot weather. Or, for something different, how about an evening spent dining and watching Flamenco dancing!
Sierra Nevada Mountains / Alpujarran Hills - areas well worth exploring for winter sports, walking and mountain villages.
