Located in a peaceful valley just 6 kms north of Velez-Malaga in the Axarquia region, to the east of Malaga. This charming old house has the best of both worlds, the unique advantage of feeling remote and secluded yet being within a 10 to 15 minutes drive to beaches, shops, restaurants etc. Set in a spectacular tropical garden, it is a proper Farmhouse dating back to the 17th century, at the very heart of a large working farm producing Avocados and Mangos. There are no bars or shops within walking distance so a car is essential. A truly romantic hide away. A 'home from home' full of interesting, original furniture, art and artefacts collected by the Spanish and English owners.

Notes on prices

Changeover day is Saturday to Saturday. Arrival after 15.00. Departure before 11.00am. Flexible in the Low Season

Fully equipped all electric kitchen with ceramic hob/oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, iron and ironing board. Washing machine is in the bathroom of bedroom 4. |

Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service: |
Sheets and towels are changed weekly and the house is cleaned thoroughly before guests arrive however there is no maid service during stay so keeping the house clean and tidy is guests responsibility. The pool is cleaned daily for exclusive use by guests. |

Not suitable for disabled people.
Outside
There are 3 terraces for the exclusive use of guests. The large main open terrace (100m2) has sunloungers, dining table and chairs. The small covered terrace is a veritable jungle of Tropical plants and is perfect for eating out with a large dining table and chairs for 8 people. The pool terrace has a barbeque and plenty of sun loungers, tables, chairs, large parasols and is completely enclosed in the tropical garden so if guests wish to sun bathe in the nude they are perfectly free to do so.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is at Torre del Mar just 12 kms away but there are all types of beaches on the Malaga coast.
Golf
The Golf course La Baviera is just a 10 minute drive away.
Skiing
Sierra Nevada ski resort is approximately 2 hours drive away.
Travel
Nearest Airport is Malaga. A 45 minute motorway drive away. A car is essential.
Booking notes
There is a minimum charge of 2 people per week. Babies in arms that require a cot are not charged for. Children are charged at half the adult price. A 25% deposit is required at confirmation of booking. A cheque in Sterling and the balance on arrival in Euros at the rate of 1.40 Euros = 1.00 Pound Sterling. Beach towels are not provided. All breakages must be paid for.

I have stayed at Lagar de Ventura so many times I've actually lost count. I have to return each year because for me it's a little piece of paradise and if I want to leave and explore, this part of Spain is so beautiful. We are a family of four who stay regularly at Lagar de Ventura because it suits our holiday requirements perfectly. A beautiful old farmhouse that feels like home, set in a lush, tropical garden that would not be out of place in the Seychelles. Rustic luxury but not pretentious or pseudo in any way. A feeling of safe, remote seclusion and yet just minutes from shops, beaches and some really great restaurants. We can thoroughly recommend it. Heather Kafno
