Lake Vinuela is just a few minutes drive away, with its lakeside restaurants, picnic and barbecue areas, fishing and sailing. Locally, you can enjoy walking, trekking, cycling, horse-riding. Nearby are several villages and a wide variety of restaurants serving delicious food - all within 6 mins drive. Further afield are the picturesque white villages of Andalucia to explore. All within 20 mins drive are the glorious beaches of Torre del Mar, 18 hole Golf Course, fun Water Park, and El Ingenio - a huge shopping complex with 250 top class shops, restaurants, bowling alley, cinema and hypermarket. The ever popular resort of Nerja and its spectacular Caves are just 40 minutes drive away.

Changeover day
These are flexible, so guests can take advantage of cheap midweek flights, and depending on other bookings. Arrival time after 4pm, departure by 10.30am, though we will try to be flexible, depending on other bookings.

Notes on accommodation
The villa has been constructed to the highest standards, the interior remaining relatively and naturally cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. There are ceiling fans in all rooms (except kitchen) and aluminium shutters to all windows. There is a log burning stove in the Lounge and electric heaters for all rooms. A highchair and cot can be provided (for an extra fee) for families with babies and toddlers. The pool area is gated off, for children's safety. A Welcome Pack is included.
Accessibility
The villa is on one level, with one step up to the Main Entrance and Porch. There is also one step up to the swimming pool access. Around the villa, is tiled terracing approx .75m (just under a metre) wide, the rest is gravelled area.
Outside
Private pool 8m x 4m x 1.5m depth. Sunny south facing pool area, with swing chair, sunbeds, views to mountains. Roof terrace. Barbecue and dining areas. Front terrace and porch, shaded in the afternoons and evenings.
Coast/Beach
Torre del Mar approx 20 mins drive. Miles of sandy beaches, ideal for swimming and water sports, magnificent promenade. Play areas for children, and also for those young at heart! With an array of restaurants and bars, Torre is a typical Spanish family resort. Also a Marina, where you can book a boat trip and search for dolphins, swim and snorkel. 15 mins drive is the Aqua Velis Water Park, caters for all ages, water based rides and paddling pools for young children. Nerja just 40 mins drive.
Golf
There are 2 excellent 18-hole golf courses. The Baviera is a 20 mins drive and the Anoreta is a 35 mins drive.
Travel
Malaga airport is a 45 min drive, Granada Airport about an hour. The property is accessed by a 700 metre hillside track, which is part concrete, part farm track. Car hire is advisable, though a local taxi service is available to collect and take you to the airport, and for shopping trips etc. Also handy for enjoying relaxing nights out, without the hassle of driving. Distances
4 mins drive to Lake Vinuela, delicatessen, lakeside restaurants. Peaceful location, where fishing allowed (with a permit). Ideal for walking, cycling, picnicking. Nearest villages, within 6 mins drive: La Vinuela has a supermarket, bank, Medical Centre (open 24/7). Puente don Manuel, selection of shops, bars and restaurants. British papers sold here. Los Romanes has a very popular restaurant. Town of Velez Malaga is 10 mins drive. El Ingenio shopping complex is a 15 mins drive. Nerja 40 mins.
Further details
The property is set in the rural area of Vinuela, which lies within the heart of Andalucia, an area of unspoilt and outstanding natural beauty, offering an abundance of choice for your holiday. There are dozens of towns and villages to explore, in fact, the Tourist Board have sign-posted five tourist routes, each taking in a series of villages and scenery. There is also horse riding, quad biking, jeep safaris and classic Land Rover tours. Another must have experience is to take part in one (or more!) of the traditional Fiestas - lots of music and dancing, drinking and eating and general fun. There are thousands held each year, and each town or village has at least one. Full details of the area, events and activities will be available in the way of maps, brochures and magazines. Although you can have a look at the AbsoluteAxarquia website beforehand, which gives you loads of information.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking, and the balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival date, together with a £150 security deposit. This deposit will be returned within 10 days of your return, subject to an inspection by our Property Management Team. Payment by cheque, UK bank, or Paypal. We advise guests to ensure they have adequate holiday insurance, against possible cancellations, as we are unable to offer refunds within the 8 weeks prior to your holiday start date.

Hi. I live in Cheshire with my husband, and am a full time carer for my elderly parents. We manage to get away to our beautiful villa whenever we can.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
After selling our manufacturing business in 2000, we planned to retire and live in this stunning part of Spain - so unspoiled, peaceful and idyllic, and so near to the coast, fiestas and whatever was happening. We fell in love with the area and the people. For the time being, we enjoy it whenever we can.
Unique benefits of the property
Our villa is only 45 minutes drive east from Malaga airport. The peace and tranquility there, is amazing - shops and local activities only a drive away when you want them. Pure bliss.
