We are an excellent base for exploring the area on foot, by mountain/road bike or on horse back in nearby Bayona or Tui where there are excellent riding stables. There is the possibility of kayaking on the river Mino, sailing in sheltered waters off the Galician coastline and visiting off shore islands with beautiful sandy beaches or surfing off the Atlantic coast. Further details
Known as the Rias Baixas, the region enjoys a micro-climate with temperatures well into the 30s during the summer months. Known for its Albariño and O Rosal, excellent quality white wines, it is possible to visit various vineyards and enjoy tasting the different wines. Many cultural events take place throughout the year including a very popular wine fair in July. There are local, often family owned, restaurants who take great pride in their cuisine, with seafood a speciality. Several of the villages have their own gastronomic fiestas.
This is always something to do at any time of the year. In spring and autumn, the temperatures are perfect for walking in the hills and mountains, or by the sea or river. The cooler temperatures at these times of year are also better for enjoying cycling and riding in this very beautiful and natural area. Summer months are great for enjoying being by the sea and taking full advantage of water sports, lazing by the pool, splashing about in nearby waterfalls and enjoying al fresco meals. Summer evenings are usually cool enough to enjoy a relaxed stroll to the village or on surrounding woodland tracks. Historic places of interest such as the towns of Tui and Valenca, the celtic site of Monte Tecla with incredible views of the Atlantic ocean and River Mino mouth, are great to visit any time of year.
