This luxury villa is set in a large, flat, landscaped garden within a small and exclusive residential area. This unique area of the Costa Brava remains unspoilt and is characterised by green, lush rolling hillsides covered in evergreen cork, olive and oak. There are magnificent beaches, sandy coves, historic coastal and inland villages to visit, all within easy driving distance. The local area also has beautiful coastal walks and countryside trails to enjoy. There are plenty of activities for young people, including all the usual water sports, plus cycling (there are two bikes at the villa), kayaking, snorkeling, horse riding, karting, quad-biking, and a large water park- all nearby. It's also very easy to get to the wonderful cities of Barcelona and Perpignan for a day out, by train or car, and the beautiful and historic towns of Girona, La Bisbal, Besalu, Cadaques and Figueres, are even nearer. Our agents live close by and will be happy to provide you with any advice you need.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds, but we are happy to consider payment in other currencies.
We are happy to discuss discounts for long-term lets.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday, but we may be able to be flexible outside the peak periods. Please arrive at the villa after 4pm on arrival day, and depart before 10am on departure day, to ensure that everyone has a clean tidy villa to start their holiday.

Bedrooms: Master bedroom with large double bed and luxury en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds (can be joined to make double).
Bedroom 3 with twin beds.
All bedrooms have excellent 3-speed ceiling fans, with remote controls, to keep you cool at bedtime.
Bathrooms: Bathroom 1 - family bathroom with bath and shower over, wc and bidet.
Bathroom 2 - en-suite with large walk-in tiled shower area and WC.
Both bathrooms have wash basins set in modern, large mirrored, vanity units with drawers and shelves.
Kitchen: Large, modern, luxury, fully equipped and fitted kitchen including: double aluminium sink, electric oven, hob, extractor, large fridge/freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, and plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware.
Utility Room: Modern boiler supplying constant hot water on demand, and central heating if required for winter bookings.
Living Rooms: Spacious open-plan: The lounge area has comfortable sofa seating for 6 people, UK satellite TV, CD/radio, DVD, and fireplace. The dining area has a large pine table with 6 chairs. Both areas also have double patio doors opening onto an outdoor terrace.
Other: There is an outdoor covered dining terrace with another large dining table and chairs for six people. It overlooks the swimming pool, has uninterrupted views to the wooded hillside, and has steps down to the poolside terrace and the landscaped garden.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The price includes all gas, electricity, water, linen and towels (including beach towels!). The villa is thoroughly cleaned before and after each booking. Any additional interim cleaning and laundering can be arranged for a reasonable additional fee.

 

Notes on accommodation
All the bedrooms have ample built-in cupboard space, bedside tables and bedside lamps. All the bedrooms have excellent remote-control ceiling fans to keep you cool at bedtime, and there are also two large portable upright fans available to keep you cool in the rest of the villa, if the going gets a bit hot. All three bedrooms are also fitted with excellent window insect blinds, so that the windows can be left open at night for extra coolness, if preferred. A cot and a highchair are available on request, at no extra charge. Wireless broadband internet access is available for a reasonable weekly charge. The villa is cool in the summer, and has full double-glazing and central heating for the cooler winter months, and so is ideal for visiting throughout the year. Also included in the price, should you wish it, is our 'meet and greet' service where you will be met and shown to, and around, the villa when you arrive. The pool will be checked, cleaned and maintained at least twice every week.

Accessibility
Unfortunately, the villa has not yet been specially adapted for wheelchair users, but the steps in the garden, and the villa, are not steep, have no more than five steps in each set, and most also have handrails, and so may be suitable for older or infirm people. We will be very happy to discuss this issue with you in detail, and provide photographs etc., if this would be helpful in determining whether our facilities have the level of accessibility you might require.

Outside
The garden is large, planted with palms, cactus, shrubs, herbs, trees and ground cover, and also has a large area of grass lawn. It is landscaped with pathways and stone walls throughout, and includes a games area for boules or badminton, with all equipment provided. It is gated and fully enclosed, with secure parking for up to 2 cars. There is a large feature hand-built BBQ made from local stone. There is also a large pergola built over a circular walled area which can be used for having morning coffee, or more al fresco eating, or just sitting, or better still, hammocking, in the shade. Another feature of the garden is the large summerhouse, used mainly for storage. Outdoor garden furniture, chairs, sun loungers, and sun umbrellas, are provided for use within the garden, or on the extensive paved area around the pool. The villa is on a small prestigious residential development, is adjacent to a beautifully landscaped park area, which also has a small play area for infants nearby.

Coast/Beach
The long golden sandy beach of Sant Antoni is less than 10 mins drive from the villa, and there are many, many, other beautiful coves and beaches all within close driving distance. The bustling fishing port, marina, and tree-lined promenade, at Palamós is also less than 10 mins drive to the north (fresh fish on sale here daily). The more cosmopolitan resort of Platja D'Aro is the same distance to the south. Or, if you prefer smaller coves, there are plenty, try Calella, Llafranc and Tamariu.

Golf
If you're a golfer, you can play from March to November. There are 8 first-class golf courses within easy reach of the villa, several of which are considered to be amongst the very best in Europe, and 2 of which are within only 5km of the villa. All of them have excellent multi-lingual websites with diagrams, pictures and full descriptions of each hole, and all the facilities. We'll be very happy to send you the links to these sites if that would be helpful. Please note that many of the courses require a proper dress-code, and sight of a handicap certificate, before play.

Travel
Girona Airport is only 40 mins drive from the villa, and we recommend flying into Girona with Ryanair. Barcelona Airport, and Perpignan airport, are about 90 mins drive. All the airports are served by low-cost airlines, and have most of the usual hire car companies at their terminals. Although a car is not essential, we suggest that you will get the best out of the holiday if you have one. Wherever you are coming from, we will, of course, provide you with clear directions to the villa.

Distances
There are a great number and wide variety of wonderful places to visit, all within short driving distances of the villa. Here are just a few suggestions: Figueres 70km, Girona 40km, La Bisbal 25km, Banyoles 10km, Pals 10km, St Feliu de Guixols 10km, Platja D'Aro 8km, Palamós 5km. You can drive to the Railway Station at 'Caldes de Malavella' only 30km, leave your car free of charge, and catch a train into, and back from, the centre of Barcelona. We'll be happy to advise about this.

Further details
There are 2 very good restaurants 'La Jovita' and 'Can Tia', literally 5 mins flat walk from the villa. It's great not having to take the car, but please note that a short stretch of the road has no footpath and great care must be taken on this stretch. We provide torches for walking down and back to the village and restaurants at night. The four-star 'masia' restaurant 'La Figuera' is situated on the hill just behind the villa and is just a few minutes away by car. This restaurant and another villa are to the rear of our villa, but they don't affect our privacy. There are, of course, many other excellent restaurants within close driving distance.

There are two excellent, large supermarkets in the village, 'Valvi', and 'Suma' both within 5 mins drive and, if you don't fancy cooking one night, Suma also has an excellent take-away Rotisseria.

The village also has all the normal butcher and baker shops, banks, pharmacy, medical centre, internet cafe and a very good weekly street market on Thursdays.

If you wish, we will arrange to have our agents, Jim & Sam, meet you when you arrive, to show you around the villa, and also demonstrate how everything works. They live close by and will also be happy to help you out with any problems, questions, or queries, you might have during your stay. They will, of course, also respect your privacy during your stay.

Booking notes
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure each booking, with the final balance to be paid 8 weeks before the holiday start-date, please. A breakage / security deposit of £250 is required, to be paid with the final balance - this deposit will be refunded to you, less any breakage costs, within 14 days of the end-date of the holiday. Payment can made by sterling cheque or internet banking transfer. Sorry, but no smoking or pets allowed in the villa.
