This village house built in 1793 has been completely renovated to offer all modern comforts but yet has retained its rustic charm. Situated in the Plaça Major (village square) in the mountain village of Darnius. With the Pyrenees as your backdrop you can enjoy all manner of outdoor activities. The surrounding area is excellent for walking, mountain biking, quad biking, horse riding, kayaking, fishing and swimming in the lake. Just a short drive (20 mins) from the market town of Figueres with its Dali museum, Thursday market and old town pedestrian shopping area. Girona with its cathedral and ancient Jewish quarter is a 45 min drive. Barcelona is a 2 hour drive (both Girona and Barcelona are easily accessible by a regular train service from Figueres). Why not take a trip to France via the main border crossing of La Jonquera (15 mins) or the less travelled mountain passes and enjoy a bit of French cuisine and culture? Explore the region or just relax around the pool.

Coast/Beach
45 mins drive to the coastal villages of Port Bou, Llança, Port de la Selva, Cadaques - all fairly small but full of beautiful coves and bays. Roses and Empuriabrava are much larger resorts with wide sandy beaches and plenty of nightlife.
Golf
There are several competition golf courses and 2 x par 3 courses within 40 minutes drive. Falgos, Perelada, Torremirona and Castello DÉmpuries.
Skiing
Valter 2000 ski station, 1 hour 30 mins drive. It offers daily ski pass and equipment hire at good rates.
Val de Nuria ski station, 1 hour 30 mins drive. Great family
skiing in Winter and excellent walking at other times of the year.

Perpignan - 30 mins drive.
Girona - 45 mins drive.
Barcelona - 2 hours drive.
By car: 12 hours from Calais along the French motorways (Darnius is a short drive from the French border).
By coach/rail: Good services from Calais stopping at Figueres railway and bus stations.
