The pool is securely gated so it's a very nice private place to bathe and swim. There is also a good size barbecue by the pool so enjoy lunch and let your kids, family and friends play the sunny afternoons away. Due to the beautiful location there are many walks up and down the slopes of Mount Mongo. This is now a National Park.

Coast/Beach
Denia normally enjoys 320 days of sunshine a year with an average temperature of 19C - so what better place to be than down at the beach front? With 20km of seafront, Denia has enough sand and space to keep everyone happy. No matter how many tourists head for the sea in the summer, the beaches never get overcrowded. And there are different beaches to suit everyone - endless stretches of flat sandy beach, rocky coves and tiny bays hidden among the cliffs.

Golf
The closest golf course is situated within the La Sella resort itself at approx 15 mins drive from the villa. Set in the grounds of a 5* hotel, it offers a Jose Maria Olazabal designed 18 hole championship course, par 72 and 6072m in length, surrounded by an ecosystem of Mediterranean woodlands and mountains situated next to Montgo Natural Park. Due to its unique design, La Sella Golf Club offers a balanced course, suitable for all levels of play. The varied and interesting course is set in a protected environment, displaying beautiful views of the countryside, where many varieties of trees may be observed from each fairway. The relaxed atmosphere, together with the Mediterranean climate allows golfing enthusiasts to enjoy the facilities all year round. In addition to this excellent course on your doorstep there are four other high quality courses within a 50 minute driving distance.

Travel
Car hire is advisable to make the most out of your trip but not essential. With easy access to all major cities and airports via train or car. Alicante airport 90km approx 1 hour drive. Valencia airport 95km approx 1 hour drive.

Distances
Denia town center, Port and Marina are all a 10 minute drive/taxi away. There are many good restaurants, bars, shops and the famous tree-lined street Calle Marquis de Campo. There is a regular ferry service from the port to the Balearic Islands. The A7 motorway is easily reached and in one hour you can drive north to Valencia or south to Alicante. In Benidorm (a 30 minute drive), you can visit the Aqualandia Water Park, Mundomar marine animal park, Terra Natura and Terra Mitica theme parks.

Further details
There's a huge range of places to visit both in and around Denia - whether you're interested in the region's culture, history, nature or you just want a fun day out. A visit to the 16th century castle which dominates the town is a good starting point. You pay a small entrance free but then you're free to roam through the castle at leisure. There are refreshingly few restrictions on the areas you can explore so you can clamber over the ancient walls at will (a little hazardous for small children though, so keep them on a tight rein!).The castle houses a fascinating collection of treasures in its Museum of Archaeology where you'll find an array of human remains, coins, pottery and ancient artefacts unearthed in and around Denia after remaining hidden from human view since 200 BC. Still within the city boundaries you can visit the toy museum, the municipal food market with its colorful collection of fresh local produce (from olives to octopus!)... The fishermen's quarters of Baix la Mar and Les Roques are charming with their cobbled streets and whitewashed buildings. Or visit the Tower of Gerro, built as a look out post as part of the war on piracy in the 17th century. If you get time to venture a little further afield there are a host of big attractions within easy driving distance. There's the Safari Park, 15 minutes drive away on the outskirts of the neighbouring town of Vergel. This is a great family day out with lion and tiger enclosures, a wide range of creature’s great and small and a brilliant sea lion show. Keep your windows closed in the enclosure areas though - two German tourists ignored the danger signs and were eaten by lions! Spain's biggest theme park, Terra Mitica is a 40 min drive south at Benidorm. The Paramount park offers an action packed day of big thrill rides, live entertainment and endless amusement all set in a magical, mythical land echoing the ancient cultures which formed the present day Spain.
