Accessibility
The villa has 3 steps up from the driveway into the main door and 1 step down to the terrace from the French windows.
Outside
The large poolside terrace gets the sun for most of the day and is an ideal place to sit and laze the day away while working on your tan. The terrace continues around the side of the building where there is a large built-in barbeque and back to the private garage and clothes drying area.
Coast/Beach
The long sandy beach at Riells is within walking distance (10/15 mins walk, 2 mins drive). During the summer this is a popular area with families and has several cafés, shops and restaurants. The beach at Montgo is 5 mins drive away but is in a secluded cove with a few restaurants alongside to while away the afternoons. The beaches at Empuries are 10 mins drive away, but are some of the finest in the area, set in woods around the picturesque village of Sant Marti.
Golf
There are 8 golf courses within a hour's drive of L'Escala.
Skiing
Nearest ski station is 1 hour 30 mins drive - Valter 2000.
Travel
L’Escala is at the south end of the Bay of Roses approx. 80km south of the French border and 120km north of Barcelona. The nearest airport is Gerona (approx. 30 mins drive) which is a major Ryanair hub with direct flights from many UK airports. Car hire and taxis are available from the airport. The main motorway is 30 mins drive. From there, there are direct motorway links though France to the channel ports.
Further details
L’Escala is a quiet fishing village with a family orientated feel and is well supplied with a variety of restaurants and shops. It is centrally located for many local attractions such as the Roman ruins of Empuries, the Salvador Dali Museum at Figueras and is less than 90 mins drive from Barcelona. The Bay of Roses area has beautiful clear water and the area is well known for its diving and other watersports.
