All apartment prices frozen for fourth year running. Our large villa with private pool is converted into several luxury apartments and is situated in the conservation village of Cotobro on the Costa Tropicale within walking distance of the beach. The villa is worlds away from the package tourism of the Costa del Sol but only 45 minutes from Malaga or Granada airports. Each apartment has its' own secluded, south facing terrace, Satellite TV/DVD and wireless internet. There is ample free parking outside the Villa all year. Almunecar, Marina del Este, La Herradura and Nerja are all nearby and have an abundance of shops, restaurants and bars. Most water sports are available and there is a good choice of local golf courses. There are many beautiful walks to enjoy in the Alpujarras mountains, or you can ski in the Sierra Nevadas. You can visit the famous Alhambra Palace at Grananda and the historic cities of Seville and Cordoba are all within easy reach. Low winter monthly rates available.

La Perla is situated on the 1st floor of the Villa and has a huge southerly private terrace which looks down Cotobro valley to the Mediterranean. The private pool is adjacent to the terrace which has its own BBQ, sun loungers and large outside dining table seating six. Discount available for two people sharing. Advertised price are for up to four people sharing.
Two double bedrooms. Huge living/dining room with a three piece leather suite, pine dining suite with seven chairs. Satellite TV, DVD player with a selection of movies, stereo and wireless internet. Brand new fully equipped separate kitchen with washing machine and dish washer. It has a very well appointed fully-tiled bathroom including separate shower, bath and bidet. Low monthly rates available for all apartments during the winter months (November - March).

Zafiro is situated on the second floor of the villa and is fully furnished. It enjoys a southerly aspect with the private terrace enjoying the sunshine all day. There are stairs from the terrace to the private solar-heated pool. There are spectacular views of the sea and Cotobro valley. Will sleep 2-4. Advertised prices are for two people sharing.
Lounge/Dining Area, 2 seater sofa bed, circular dining table with 4 chairs. Satellite TV/DVD player with a selection of movies, stereo and wireless internet. There is a large picture window overlooking the pool with patio door to the sun-terrace. Fitted kitchen with fridge, ceramic hob and microwave. Double Bedroom with wall to wall fitted wardrobes and double bed. Bathroom with electric power shower, basin, WC, shaving socket. Low winter monthly rates available.

La Turquesa is a beautiful and spacious one bedroom apartment on the first floor of the Villa. The apartment has its own private terrace. The exclusivity of our villa and Cotobro itself, is what will make your holiday a very special experience. Turquesa will sleep 2-4. Advertised prices are for two people sharing.
The lounge/dining room has a 3 seater sofa-bed, Satellite TV/DVD player, stereo and wireless internet. Dining table and four chairs. Large French doors lead onto the terrace with sea views. The kitchen is brand new and fully-fitted with a fridge/freezer, 4 ring ceramic hob with electric oven and microwave.
The generous bedroom has a double bed, built in double wardrobes and bedside tables. The en-suite bathroom has a large shower, vanity basin and WC. There are French doors that lead from the bedroom to the front terrace which overlooks the villa garden stocked with exotic plants and tropical fruit trees. Low winter monthly rates available.

 

Notes on accommodation
Low monthly rates available during the winter months (November - March) All apartments are equipped with fans, air-con units are available price on request. If you would like your apartments cleaned during your stay, we have a cleaning service available, price on request.

Outside
Each apartment has their own sunbeds, sun shade and table and chairs. Bar-B-Q's are available in the Bar-B-Q area near the pool. All terraces are private and south facing. The private pool is solar-heated and is only shared by three apartments.

Coast/Beach
The Costa Tropical has 19km of coast with 26 different beaches. Some of these are coves which are hidden away, others have plenty of beach side cafes and restaurants where Sangria and tapas flow. Our local beach is approx a 10 minute walk through the beautiful Cotobro valley, or 2 minutes by car.

Golf
There are several golf courses within a 15 minute drive

Skiing
Skiing is available in season in the Sierra Nevada mountains approx. 45 minutes away

Travel
Malaga and Granada airports are approx. 45 minutes. A car is strongly recommended.

Distances
Almunecar is 2 minutes from the apartment, Nerja 10 minutes and Granada 45 mins. Malaga is 45 minutes on the Autovia Mediterraneo.

Further details
Cotobro is situated between Almunecar and Marina del Este on the Costa Tropicale. Almunecar is a thriving Spanish town protected by the Sierra Nevada mountains and only 5 minutes by car from the apartments. Here you will find many excellent restaurants, bars, Banks and shops. Enjoy real Flamenco in authentic surroundings. Visit the caves at Nerja, spend the day in our local water park or bird park. There are also many historical sites dating back to the Romans and the Phoenicians.

Booking notes
Prices quoted are for 2-4 sharing in Perla, and 2 sharing in Zafiro and Turquesa. There is a surcharge per extra person per week up to a maximum 6 people in La Perla and four people in Zafiro and Turquesa. To book we require a 50% deposit paid into our UK account with the balance paid in cash (Euros) on arrival. Minimum stay one week during high season (July/August) 20% discount for last minute booking (within one week of occupation) Low monthly rates available November - March.

The apartment is in a fantastic location, very peaceful with a breathtaking view but also close to Almuριcar shops, bars and restaurants. The Costa Tropical is a beautiful location and we are so pleased that we saw your advert on Owners Direct, which introduced us to this special part of Spain. The apartment is more like a mini villa and provided everything we could want, the kitchen and dining areas are especially well quipped, with every kind of glass, bowl and cooking utensil. We were especially surprised to find the cool box, which was very handy during our trip to the beach and it was your attention to detail and hospitality that made our stay extra special. Best wishes

About the owner
We split our time between the UK and Spain and have really fallen for the charms of the Costa Tropical. We have many friends in the area and feel very much at home in Spain. I am a retired musician (guitarist) and enjoy the local music in the clubs and bars in the area. Heloise's background is in the restaurant business and she ran a very successful Thai restaurant in Chiswick/London.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We travelled extensively in Spain, France and Portugal looking for the right property. We stumbled upon the Costa Tropical almost by accident. It is less than an hour from Malaga airport on very good roads but once you leave the motorway you enter an unspoiled & beautiful resort. We loved the area immediately with it's attractive sea front, exotic plants and swaying palm trees. We have all year round good weather and Almunecar is a thriving town even in the winter. There are many lovely and very clean beaches, great beach restaurants and friendly bars offering live music and great (and free) tapas. Almunecar & La Herradura are small, very Spanish towns where you can explore the hidden squares and narrow streets. It is here we discovered the real Spain.

Unique benefits of the property
Our house is in the unique position of being near the beach and the local towns, whilst at the same time enjoying beautiful unspoilt views in a semi-rural conservation village. This makes the house very quiet and peaceful yet all the facilities of the area are within easy reach. Our private pool is only for the use of our guests and we have free, safe & easy parking right outside the villa. As we live in the villa we are always on hand to offer help and support if needed and of course solve any little problems that may arise.
