Villa Las Minas is a beautiful villa, set in a secluded, peaceful location with stunning views of impressive mountains covered in pine forests. Fantastic walks directly from the villa. The villa is well equipped and comfortably furnished, both inside and out. This is a beautiful romantic setting and would be ideal for a couple wanting a peaceful, away from it all break, or is equally suitable for a family of 4. As it is close to the climbing areas of El Chorro and Turon, it is also a suitable base for climbers. In winter you may wish to enjoy cosy evenings around the logfire. For the rest of the year , you are likely to spend most of your time outdoors. The terrace, with its comfortable seating, is decorated with potted plants and is a perfect place to watch the dramatic sunsets while enjoying a glass of wine. The secluded pool, with its Roman steps is surrounded by sun loungers and an outdoor eating area and a good gas bbq. Should you wish to unwind, this is the place for you.

The villa has a pretty terrace with stunning views, through the olive trees to the pine covered mountains. It is decorated in typical Andaluz fasion, with brightly coloured flowerpots on the patio and walls. Olden wooden ploughs sit on the low walls, adding to the rustic charm. As well as providing a great place for the last drink of the evening, it also provides a good shaded area to escape the sun at the height of summer.
The 8 x 4 m attractively tiled swimming pool is at the side of the villa on another terrace. This has Roman steps for easy access and is surrounded with a sun-bathing area, sun loungers, wooden table and chairs. There is also a good gas barbecue close to the pool. There is a garden with flowers, banana plants and palms at one side of the villa, whilst the remaining grounds are mainly well matured olive trees with beautiful silvery leaves. Some lemon and orange trees line the private driveway from the tall, security gates to the villa itself.
Coast/Beach
45 minutes drive to the sandy Costa del Sol resorts. There is a choice between the traditional Spanish beaches with their small tavernas on the beach, or the very popular tourist resorts of Benalmadena and Torremolinos with plenty of English pubs, or up-market Marbella. Boat trips, water skiing, banana rides etc all available within 45 mins drive.

Ardales, a larger village is just 5km away. The Andalucian lake district with its turquoise lakes and famous climbing area of El Chorro gorge are within 15 mins drive. There is a beach area at the lakes where canoes and pedalos can be hired.

Just a quick e-mail to say thanks again for our lovely stay at Las Minas - it was a really lovely villa and far better than we expected. Thanks again and see you again no doubt. May 2009
If you want a quiet relaxing holiday then this place is for you. The Villa and surrounding area was stunning, and the photos do not seem to do it justice. The property was clean and well maintained and the owner certainly thought of everything.
Visited local villages and main resorts on the coast which were all easy to get to. Hopefully we will return next year as this was one of our best holidays yet. Ann and Jack July 2008.
We spent this summer at Las Minas and have already booked it for 3 weeks next year. Las Minas gives you the best of both worlds, peace and tranquility of a stunning mountain setting but only 5 mins drive from the charming village of Carratraca. We would recommend Las Minas as the ideal place to enjoy the beauty and relaxed pace of life in Southern Spain. Linda, Paul
Owner profile
About the owner
We are a couple who fell in love with this area and 5 years ago, we decided to risk everything, sell up in the UK and invest all our money and effort setting up a small holiday rental business specialising in this area.
We are pleased to say that the risk proved worthwhile and we now have a number of excellent properties, some of which we own and others which we manage on behalf of local people.
Properties advertised on this site are our own properties and, living locally, we are on hand throughout your stay should you need any help or advice.
We now have many regular customers who come back year on year, having fallen in love with area, just as we did 5 years ago.
Year purchased: 2006
Why the owner chose a home in this location
This property is secluded, with absolutely stunning mountain views and we put in a swimming pool to make it an ideal base for a quiet holiday- away from it all.
However, we were also keen that it was not TOO remote- some rural properties in Spain can be absolutely miles from anywhere, wheres Villa Las Minas has the tranquility many people want, but is only 3 km from a great village with a good choice of bars and restaurants, and even a luxury thermal spa if you want to pamper yourself for a day.
There is a taxi service if you want to go out for a night and leave the car at home and we will happily organise this for you.
The walks directly from the villa are stunning and the views over the olive trees in your private olive grove are to die for.
Unique benefits of the property
The villa is well equipped, modern, yet it has a rustic charm about it.
It is comfortable and has English SAT TV and DVD and a cosy log fire for the winter.
The pool gets the sun all day long and so is a pleasant temperature for swimming during the summer months.
With 5000 sq metres of private olive groves, you are welcome to bring your dog and as there are lockable gates, he/she can roam freely and you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
If you are a keen climber or walker, this is an ideal location.
