Casa Bonita is in a small hamlet of La Realenga de Agicampe with similar houses, some of which are still used as small holdings by Spanish farmers. The views are spectacular, overlooking olive groves and further, towards the Sierra Nevada mountains and its famous world cup ski resort. The house is convenient for both Granada (30 minutes) and Malaga (60 minutes) airports. The coast of the Costa Tropical is approx 50 minutes whilst the Costa del Sol is also approx 50 minutes away in the opposite direction. Ideal for exploring rural Spain and the large cities of Granada, Seville and Cordoba with their rich history and amazing architecture, most notably the Alhambra Palace in Granada and the Mezquita in Cordoba.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the house per week in UK £. £50 reduction on 2 week bookings. Long lets may be possible by separate negotiation. Weekend and midweek mini breaks accepted except during June-September. A booking deposit of £75 and a returnable key/breakages deposit of £75 is required to secure booking. Cancellation refunds: Up to 8 weeks - no cancellation charge 4-8 weeks - 50% of rate refunded 2-4 weeks - 25% of rate refunded. Less than 2 weeks - no refund.

Changeover day
Changeover dates and times flexible. Preferred change over times are 2:00pm arrival, 10am departure. These times can be amended to suit flight times etc, and will be advised on confirmation of booking, but may be altered to suit subsequent bookings.

Notes on accommodation
Large log burner in living room plus electric heating elsewhere. Individual room fans in bedrooms and large ceiling fans in sun lounge. External wall lights to patio areas and roof terrace. The swimming pool is unguarded so children to be supervised at all times. DVD player and a small collection of DVDs included as are novels and general interest guide books and information leaflets/ brochures. 2 sets of speakers which can be used with MP3 players / Ipods are also available. We also provide beach towels so you don't have to carry them in the luggage allowance given by airlines, so saving weight and space for the more essential items.

Accessibility
There are steps into and out of the house and steps within the house on the ground floor. There are stairs to the first floor.

Outside
Large tiled patio areas and first floor roof terrace with access via external stairs or from all bedrooms. Private tiled swimming pool (4m x 8m approx), hardwood garden furniture which includes dining table and large parasol, 6 chairs, steamers (with cushions). 2 additional tables with chairs to be used on separate patio areas, further parasols. Outside shower (cold water only). Outside kitchen with sink (hot and cold water), worktops and gas BBQ. There are external lights for when the sun eventually sets. Large roof terrace with views over olive groves and Sierra Nevada mountains.

Coast/Beach
Nearest beach at Salobrena (approx 60 mins drive). This is a less commercialised shale beach where Spanish families go to relax. Costa Tropical and Costa del Sol approx 1 hours drive in either direction.

Golf
Nearest golf course in Antequera (approx 30 mins drive).

Skiing
Skiing in the Sierra Nevada (approx 60 mins).

Travel
Granada airport (30 mins) and Malaga airport (60mins) drive. Car hire essential. The house is accessed via a tarmaced country lane, no need for 4WD, normal cars are more than adequate.

Distances
15 mins walk to local village of La Fabrica. Local town, Heutor Tajar, 5 mins drive. Larger Town, Loja, 10 mins drive. Granada city, 40 mins drive.

Further details
Supermarkets are accessed in Loja and Huetor Tajar. Usual opening times are from 9.30am-9.30pm, they are closed for siesta during 2-5.30pm and all day Sunday. However, the Mercadona supermarkets in the centre of Loja and Huetor Tajar stay open during siesta. Local fiestas mean there may be time changes to shop hours. Details may be found through local tourist information offices. There are 2 bars in the local village, La Fabrica which is approximately a 15 minutes walk from the house and a further 2 bars at the end of the lane, all bars serve tapas with your drinks, and the 2 bars in La Fabrica serve excellent, if basic, food. In Loja there is a new very well cared for Olympic sized outdoor swimming pool and 2 smaller childrens pools, approx 3 euros entrance fee with sun beds for hire at 1 euro. There is also a smaller public pool in Huetor Tajar with a new sports centre and gym. In Loja there are numerous restaurants, with Restaurant Alacena being one of the best with a good range of dishes including locally famous pizzas. Further afield is Alhama de Granada with it's hot springs and spas, approx 30 mins drive. Feel free to walk through the olive groves that surround the house, and look out for the abundant wildlife that live in the fields.
The Poniente Granadino is in the centre of Andalusia. It is located inland between the city of Malaga and the Costa del Sol on the one side and the city of Granada and the Sierra Nevada on the other one. Its strategic situation means that the traveler can visit several major historical centers of Andalusia in single day trips. The Poniente Granadino is well located to visit the highlights in Andalusia: Sevilla, Cordoba, Ronda, Sierra Nevada, the Alpujarras, Malaga, the Costa del Sol and of course, the city of Granada with the beautiful Arabian palaces and gardens of the Alhambra.

About the owner
We are a professional couple, who once our children were old enough, decided to buy our dream holiday home. Allan is an architect and designed the improvements to the house alongside a local Spanish architect. This collaboration leads to Casa Bonita having modern facilities whilst at the same time retaining the Spanish style of the house. The house is constantly being upgraded to suit needs or suggestions made by guests and so is improving all the time. We visit Casa Bonita as often as possible, and find it more and more difficult to leave everytime.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought Casa Bonita for 2 main reasons, firstly because it is situated in a very peaceful rural area where it is easy to unwind and relax. Secondly, the house is simple, easy to understand and when initially purchased needed a complete reform which meant we could refurbish it as we required to suit our needs and the needs of our guests, without losing the inherent Spanish feel.

Unique benefits of the property
Casa Bonita offers tranquility in a countryside setting, but yet is only a 10 minute drive from Loja, a large town which has all the amenities you would require, and only 5 minutes drive from Huetar Tajar a smaller town but again with all amenities needed. The large swimming pool (4 x 8m approx) is ideal for cooling down during the day and night and also forms the focal point of the house. The ample terraces allow sun worshipers to follow the sun all day until it finally sets behind the hills. The large roof terrace is the perfect place for that evening night cap and to watch the abundant local wild life and to see the Sierra Nevada mountains glow pink at sunset or, for early risers, watch the sun rise from behind the mountains ready for another perfect day.
