Coast/Beach
A 10 minute stroll will bring you to the gently sloping shores of the Mar Menor. The largest saltwater lagoon in Europe and traditionally always 2 or 3 degrees warmer than the neighbouring mediterranean, its high mineral content is said to lend itself to restorative powers. Its warm and shallow waters make it ideal for young children. In the summer months you can find the usual array of water sports on offer.
Golf
There are numerous challenging golf courses in the area including 3 championship courses at the famous La Manga Club. Help is available to arrange golfing trips if required.
Travel
The nearest airport is Murcia/San Javier, just 25 minutes drive away. Alicante is 1 hours drive away. A car is recommended to make the most of your holiday and everything the area has to offer. There are numerous car hire firms which operate from both airports.
Distances
Los Belones is 5 minutes drive or can be walked in around 30 minutes (taxis are readily available for the return journey). Beautiful Cabo de Palos and the start of the La Manga strip is just 10 minutes drive away. Los alcazares 20 mins drive as is Cartagena with its busy port and many Roman remains. University city of Murcia 45 minutes drive.
Further details
Small, well stocked 24 hour supermarket less than 5 minutes walk from apartment. Larger supermarkets in Cabo de Palos. several banks, bakers butchers, chemists and church in Los Belones. There are markets virtually everyday in the villages around with the largest in Cabo De Palos taking place every Sunday, attracting shoppers from all over the region, it is a very busy social affair.
