This delightful 3 year old house with 4 sun terraces is in a very pretty gated community and has immaculately maintained gardens with palms, flowering shrubs, trees and grass areas. Central to the complex is a large adult pool and smaller shallow children’s pool. Palomares, just a few minutes walk is a typical Spanish village which has several small supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants. The area offers so much, various golf courses, aqua park, lovely beaches, Go-karting, mountain biking, horse riding, scubadiving, and fishing just for starters. For the more adventurous and a little further afield it is possible to go caving near Sorbas and skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains during the winter months, or act out your cowboy fantasies at Mini Hollywood, Tabernas. For the history and culture lovers the city of Granada offers the unrivalled splendour of the Alhambra Palace, whilst the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata you can see eagles overhead and flamingos in the saltlakes.

Notes on accommodation
The accommodation is bright and airy with at least 1 of the terraces enjoying the 326 days of sunshine at any one time, which is great for outdoor eating and living. Access to the top terraces are by means of an internal staircase making trips from the kitchen a little easier.
All external rooms are fitted with security shutters and the bedrooms and lounge/diner each have air conditioning units which can also provide heating if necessary during the winter months.
There is an intercom between the locked complex gates and each house. This means the gates can be unlocked from inside the house using the button on the phone.
The lockable up and over barrier to the rear of the house provides entrance from the road where parking is free and easy. Direct access to the kitchen from this area means it is easy to off load shopping and suitcases.
We would appreciate smoking outside only.
Sorry pets are not allowed on the complex.
Accessibility
This property is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
Outside
From the ground floor front patio/garden area of our house there are a few steps down to our gate which leads onto the beautifully maintained complex gardens and pool area. Generally the pool is the place to socialise and get to meet other residents and holiday makers enjoying the Spanish sunshine. The pools are fenced for child safety and have showers and WCs.
Visitors can gain access to the accommodation by means of an individual intercom between the locked complex gates and each house.
Access from the central complex area is by 1 of 3 secure gates.
Coast/Beach
The local beach at Palomares is about 10min walk. Within a 10-20min drive San Juan de los Terreros, Mojacar, Garrucha and Vera Playa all have golden sandy beaches and numerous promenades bars, restaurants and other activities.
The coastline between Villaricos and San Juan de los Terreros (5-15min by car) is rocky with a host of private coves and inlets. Should you prefer the more isolated beaches and natural terrain then try exploring the coast to the north, of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park.
Golf
There are many golf clubs in the area with more being developed all the time. The most local to us is Desert Springs 18 hole, par 72 at just 5km. Other golf courses of note are Valle de Este, 18 hole par 71 (15min drive), Marina Golf 18 hole, par 72 (10min drive) and Cortijo Grande 9 hole in the foot hills of The Sierra Cabrerra mountains (25min drive).
Travel
There are a choice of airports with the closest to us being Almeria which is approximately 60min. San Javier (Murcia) is approximately 1hr and 20min whilst Alicante is approximately 2hr 20min. all travel is predominantly on the motorways.
To get the most out of your holiday a car is essential. Car hire can easily be arranged over the internet for pick up and deposit at any of the above airports. Transport from the airport can be arranged if required at the appropriate rates.
Distances
Local villages/towns which may be of interest are Palomares, 5 mins walk, Villaricos and Garrucha, 5 and 10 mins by car respectively. Typical Andalucian sugarcube villages of Mojacar and Bedar are 15 mins and 25 mins. For kids the Aqua Park is only 2km.
Granada and the Alhambra Palace is only 2hr 30m on the motorway.
Be Clint Eastwood for the day on the film set of some of the most notable spaghetti westerns. The whole family can be entertained at Mini Hollywood, Tabernas 1hr 30min drive.
Further details
When it comes to food you can eat in or try some of the many cuisines in the area. Garrucha with its local fishing fleet is famous for its seafood restaurants whilst Mojacar Playa has more restaurants than it is possible to count; Spanish, Argentinian, French, Italian, Chinese or even English can all be sampled. Turre also offers plenty of choice with some lovely Spanish restaurants or tapas. Whatever takes your fancy.
The local towns and villages have weekly markets where fresh and tasty local produce can be obtained along with just about everything else you may wish to buy.
Locally in Palomares you will find banks, post office, fishmonger, bakery, bars, and small supermarkets. Nearby (5-10 mins drive) you will find a choice of several large supermarkets with the Mercadona at Garrucha having an unbelievable fresh fish section.
Booking notes
A deposit of £100 is required to secure your booking with the balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to your stay. Payment can be made by UK cheque. Payment to be made in full if booking is made less than 8 weeks before your stay. A damage cover of £100 is required with your final payment. This will be refunded on return of your holiday when our local manager confirms no damage or breakages.
