This andalusian style villa sleeps 10 in 5 en-suite bedrooms in a comfortable and stylish atmosphere (whitewashed walls, black and white prints, and many personal touches). The salt water pool (10m x 5m), fully enclosed and surrounded by traditional brick terracing, has a brushwood covered area at 1 end, ideal for siestas in the dappled shade. There is a separate dining terrace and also an entrance patio (perfect for the evening "fino") full of fragrant plants. Jerez, Cádiz, Tarifa, Seville, and the famous "white villages" are all within easy reach. Changeover day is Friday (arrival after 16:00 and departure before 10:00).

Notes on accommodation
The pool area is fully enclosed, making it ideal for families with small children. As well as this, previous guests have particulalry enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and the different sitting out areas. This is a light and airy house with views and access to the garden on all sides. There is a also a lot of welcome shade from the numerous umbrella pines.
Accessibility
All the entrances to the house involve 1 or 2 small steps up. However, there are two bedrooms on the ground floor (the largest double suite and the smallest twin suite). The pool has wide, easy access steps in the shallow end.
Outside
There is a mature garden of nearly 1000m2, full of rubber plants, palms, bouganvilla, plumbago, jasmine, mimosa, and orange and lemon trees (to mention just a few). There is also plenty of well kept lawn, ideal for children's games and some welcome shade from the pines trees. The entrance patio is full of fragrant plants, while part of the pool terrace is shaded by a huge bouganvilla and brushwood. There is a built-in BBQ and the dining terrace has a large tiled table for seating ten. The private pool is 10m x 5m and has easy access steps that creat an L-shape in the shallow end. The pool has a salt water filtration system.
Coast/Beach
The nearest (and possibly the best!) beach is less than 200m from your doorstep. This beach stretches for 7km in one direction (towards the old tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri) and 1km in the other, where it finishes in a series of pretty rocky coves known as the Calas de Conil. It is a classic Atlantic beach, ideal for buckets and spades, cricket, surfing, and riding (horses can be hired locally). There are plenty of other stunning beaches all the way along the coast.

Montecastillo (40 mins): 18 holes (Jack Nicklaus-designed and home to Volvo Masters).

Travel
You could stay at Casa Almadraba without a car, as beach, supermarket, chemist, and bar/restaurant are all within walking distance. However, we would recommend a car for access to the umpteen treasures in the surrounding area. The nearest airports are: Jerez (45 mins), Seville (80 mins), Gibraltar (90 mins), and Malaga (150 mins)
Distances
Conil (10 minute drive south) is a nice whitewahsed fishing village. Cádiz (25 minutes), with its Roman ruins and lovely old town, and Jerez (40 minutes), with its bodegas and famous riding school, are both worth a visit (they also have good shopping and fabulous fish markets). Seville (80 mins) is spectacular. White villages, such as Vejer (15 mins) or Medina (20 mins) are both a must, and so too are Tarifa and the Roman ruins at Bolonia. Walk up to the lighthouse at Trafalgar in a storm!
Further details
The nearest shops (supermarket, chemist, bar) are a 5 minute walk within Roche. Alongside these you will also find a nice children's play area. Superb local fruit and veg and local butcher (try out the "presa" and "chorizos") are less than a 5 minute drive. A 5 minute drive in the other direction brings you to a whole variety of clothes and food shops, plus bars, restaurants, and banks at the shopping centre at Sancti Petri (modern and practical!). It is also a five minute drive to the private medical clinic at Sancti Petri. There are 2 beach restaurants (15 minute walks), one of which is open all year. A lot of people move around Roche by bike (hot bread and newspaper within 1 minute!), and bike hire can easily be arranged. There is great cycling (and walking) all around Roche, and watersports on the beach at the end of the road. However, there are so many outdoor activities available that it is better to contact the owner for details, recommendations, routes, etc.
Booking notes
We ask for 25% of the full rental amount to confirm the booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival. We also ask for a 250 euros deposit to cover breakages.
