Just renovated apartments in typical white townhouse. In the little village of Picena, where literally time stood still... Sitting on the terrace in the early morning or evening, there is only birds and silence. The village has 2 little shops and bars, but there plenty more in the other villages, just minutes driving away. With the beach only 40 mins away and the cities of Almería and Granada within an hour and an hour and a half, this is the perfect getaway. The apartments are a great base to be in the middle of the authentic 'Alpujarran life' and from there start your daily walks, trips or just relax in between. In summer there is always the possibility to visit the communal pool of Picena or Laroles.

Notes on accommodation
There is a stove (with wood in the cellar) and additional electric heating in the winter months.
The upper apartment has a terrace, big enough to sit and eat outside.
The lower apartment has balcony doors and a larger living area.
Washing machine, ironing board, radio and TV available.
Linen and towels are included, also cleaning before arrival.

Accessibility
In general, the Alpujarran villages can have steep and narrow streets that can be difficult for people that have mobility problems. A rental car is highly recommended.

Outside
A terrace with outdoor furniture in the upper apartment.
Communal pool in July/August.

Coast/Beach
The beaches of Almerimar or Roquetas are 40 mins drive away.
In Roquetas de Mar there are also lots of bars and shops and other amenities to spend a nice day at the coast.

Skiing
Skiing station Puerto de la Ragua is within 30 mins driving.
The Granada ski resorts are roughly an hour and a half away.

Special interest holidays
We consider the apartments perfect if you want to go hiking, trekking, walking or discover the beautiful surroundings of the Alpujarras.
Horse riding and mountain biking are other possibilities in the area.

Travel
Almería: 1 hour.
Granada: 1.5 hours.
Malaga: 2.5 hours.
It is recommended to hire a car, also for getting places in the Alpujarras itself.

Distances
Within Picena there are 2-3 bars and 2 little shops. In Laroles you can find a bank, 2 supermarkets, restaurants and more bars.
Ugíjar offers even more of this and in general, in every village you can find one or more places to eat and drink.

Normally we request a 50% deposit to confirm the booking. Balance payable 2 weeks before arrival.
