Poble Nou is a thriving old Catalan district, just over a kilometre from the city centre with its tourist attractions. It is on the coast - the best beaches and busy sea front with seafood restaurants and bars are less than 15 minutes' level walk along the 'Rambla de Poble Nou'. There are many restaurants and bars in this wide pedestrianised avenue, as well as shops, banks and air-conditioned supermarkets. People sit out in the cafes under the plane trees. It is lively but less noisy than the city centre.
The flat is on a side street just off this Rambla. Just a minute's walk at the other end of the street is the Metro which takes you directly into the city in eight minutes. The apartment is on the 2nd floor of a traditional Spanish building, nearly a hundred years old. It has high ceilings with fine original wooden beams. The flat has been fully modernised and provides comfortable, spacious accommodation for five people, with an additional double futon in the living room.

Notes on prices
High season = 15 March to 30 September, 16 December to 6 January. Minimum stay is 4 nights. Prices are for the property per week / per night in sterling. For more than 2 people, please add £10 per person per night. Cleaning fee of €50 not included in above prices. For special offers - please contact owner.

Changeover day
Dates are flexible - please check with owner. Arrival time: 3pm. Departure time: 10am.

The flat is on the second floor, accessed by stairs. There is air-conditioning and gas central heating. Smoke and CO2 alarms are fitted.

Coast/Beach
800 metres (15 minutes level walk) from sea front and beaches along the Poble Nou Rambla.

Travel
Barcelona (El Prat) airport is the nearest - buses run every 15 minutes to the city centre; taxis cost around 28 euros from the airport to the flat. Girona airport is within easy reach (approximately 1 hour by coach + taxi from station).
Barcelona's transport infrastructure is excellent (metro, buses and trams) and it is unlikely you would need use of a car.

Distances
The flat is 100 metres from the Metro, Poble Nou station. It is an eight minute ride into the city centre tourist areas.

Further details
It is 150 metres level walk to the Rambla de Poble Nou where there are all the amenities: shops, supermarkets, banks, restaurants and bars. There is an indoor swimming pool within 300 metres of the flat.
An English friend who has lived in Barcelona for ten years will be on hand to help if you have any queries or want any information on Barcelona or the Poble Nou district.

Booking notes
We require a deposit of 30% to hold your reservation and the remainder should be paid at least ten weeks in advance of your holiday. All payments should be by cheque. A cancellation charge will apply - for more information contact the owner. A cleaning fee of €50 is also payable locally. We also ask for a refundable damage security deposit of £150, paid in advance of your stay.
