Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible, you may find midweek flights are cheaper. Arrivals after 3pm and depart by 10.30am
Notes on accommodation
Pets are welcome by arrangement.
There is a washing machine available for the Kingfisher and Bee-eater to use.
There is a fan in each bedroom for night use in summer.
Cot and highchair available.
Outside
The organic garden surrounding the Cortijo is the ideal place to lose yourself. Find one of the hidden seats amongst the trees and shrubs and take in the scent of the herbs and flowers, enjoy the abundant supply of sub-tropical fruit and relax. The tiled filtered pool is 5m x 3.5m it is the ideal place to cool down. There is decking on one side with sunbeds. Each cottage has its own shaded terrace with plenty of outside furniture to sit and soak up the sun.
Parking is on the property and under trees, which helps to keep them cool.
Coast/Beach
The Costa Tropical is 35 minutes drive away with plenty of different beaches to explore along the varied coast.
Travel
Malaga airport is less than 2 hours drive. Car hire is best arranged from your home base. Taxi collection from the airport can be arranged. Granada airport is now open but not from so many airports, and is an hours drive. There are bus connections to Orgiva.

The Alhambra Palace in Granada 33 miles.
Skiing in the Sierra Navada 52 miles.
Beaches 25 miles.

Las Alpujarras is one of the last secrets of rural Spain. Traditions, customs and people being nice to each other still play an important part of everyday life. Las Golondrinas lies in the heart of this magical area, 15 minutes walk from the capital town of the Alpujarras, Orgiva. With a population of approximately 5,000, Orgiva has all the amenities you would expect from a town of this size. Hiking, birdwatching, biking, gardening and horse-riding are just some of the activities our guests enjoy.
Booking notes
All linen and towels are supplied( pool/beach towels may be hired for 5 euros each per week) and the English owners live close by to help you enjoy your stay. A 20% non-returnable deposit is payable on booking and the balance is due 6 weeks before your holiday starts.

About the owner
We bought Las Golondrinas in August 2000 and relocated. My background was in Agriculture and my wife had her own cleaning business. (Cleaning up after me and still is). We were looking for a change in direction and a new challenge. We got both. Our daughter was 6 years old and soon picked up Spanish. We have integrated into the local society and enjoy the company of the rural ways and traditions that this part of Spain offers.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Las Golondrinas was already a successful letting business. The location takes your breath away. 450m. above sea level. Situated on the outskirts of the market town of Orgiva on the foothills of the snow capped Sierra Nevada mountains. The coast close by and the historic city of Granada the same sort of distance. 40 minutes.

The mature gardens of Las Golodrinas offers the guest plenty of shade to loose oneself tucked away in a corner and get lost in a book. With a wide variety of organic fruit to eat and lots of sunshine many guests return for another chance to recharge their batteries.
