Casa Agustin is a comfortable 4 bedroom holiday home sleeping 8-10 people. The location on the edge of a quiet village combines tranquility with easy access to local towns and other attractions. Granada, Cordoba, Antequera, Seville and Malaga are all within easy drive. The house has been renovated and decorated while keeping to the original design. The private swimming pool has ample terracing around while the patio at the front has a vine for summer shade. The beaches of the Costa del Sol are an hour's drive while the lake of Iznajar has a safe beach at a short drive.

Notes on accommodation
On the large landing is a double sofabed. A cot is available if needed. Electric heaters are fitted in upstairs rooms for winter use. Wood burning stoves to all ground floor rooms, giving additional heating to the upstairs via internal flues.
Accessibility
Access to pool area is via a small flight of steps therefore not accessible to wheelchairs or people limited mobility.
Pool area has a bolted gate to enable adults to limit access to children if needed.
Outside
At the front is a vine-covered patio. At the side is the private pool 8m x 4m ranging from 1m-3m in depth with steps at shallow end and terraces with sunbeds and chairs. Also small maturing gardens with olive, orange and lemon trees.

Coast/Beach
The Lake of Iznajar has a gently sloping sandy beach with water activities and a beach bar in the summer. The beaches of the Costa del Sol are about an hour by car. Trips to Gibraltar and Morocco also make for an interesting holiday.
Golf
The nearest golf course is at Antequera at about 25 minutes drive. There are many more near the coast at Costa del Sol (about an hour by car).
Skiing
Skiing is available in the Sierra Nevada, at about 90 minutes drive.
Special interest holidays
The house is situated on the edge of the Subbetica (natural Park) which encourages lots of wildlife around the Iznajar lake and surrounding area such as birds and deer. Pony trekking is available locally where treks are available from one hour to several days. Pony trekking is also available at Lobo Park Antequera where conservation and breeding programmes for wolves and other canine species can be observed. Bird watching and walking are popular pastimes and the lake at Fuente de Piedra with the only breeding residential colony of flamingos in Europe is a short drive away. The house is well positioned for exploring the history of Andalucia. Granada (for the Alhambra), Cordoba, Antequera and Seville are all within easy reach by car and are of historical interest. Many of the smaller white walled towns and villages are also of interest such as Iznajar, Ronda and Priego de Cordoba. There is a water park for family days out in Granada and horse riding is available locally.
Travel
Granada airport is 45 minutes from the house, and has daily flights from/to London Stansted and Liverpool.
Malaga airport is 50 miles, nearly all by motorway. Channel ports about 1100 miles. Use of a car is essential.
Distances
Iznajar lake with beach 5 miles by car. Nearest part of lake is within walking distance.
Loja and Iznajar towns are 20 minutes drive away and a local supermercado can be found in the next village 2kms away.
Further details
The house is well placed for exploring southern Spain such as:- Fuente de Piedra with its lagoon and flamingoes, the natural park of El Torcal with its strange moonscape rock formations, Rio Gordo with its famous Passion Play and the town of Iznajar has lovely whitewashed houses and narrow lanes with an 8th century castle and 18th century church.
Granada is an historic town with interesting arabic craft quarter and numerous restaurants and bars. It has has a aquapark, musuems and "Artic experience" centre.
Booking notes
We can hold a reservation for a limited period and ask for a 25% deposit with the balance paid 8 weeks before arrival. A fully refundable security deposit of £200 will be required. Our English speaking agent is on hand to assist with any local queries.
