For those with young children you can take comfort from being able to keep your eye on them from the sun terrace whilst they play at the pool. Outside
Sun terrace has seating for 4 and coffee table. Complex has beautiful landscaped gardens, full of exotic and fragrant plants. There are 7 pools, plus 1 baby splash pool. Paddle tennis courts.
Coast/Beach
5 min drive or 20 minute walk to La Duquesa Blue Flag beach, a large sandy beach, perfect for families, with traditinal Spanish beach bars and volleyball net. Walk the promenade all the way to Sabinillas beach, about a mile, to enjoy the views to Estepona and the rest of the New Golden Mile. En route there are lots of childrens play areas, benches and bars for you to stop at to take the weight off for a bit!
Golf
Well the Costa del Sol doesn’t have the nickname of ‘Costa del Golf’ for nothing! There are nearly 60 golf courses in Andalucia, of which 30 are on the Costa del Sol, so you’ll be spoilt for choice! The wonderful fine weather makes golf popular all year round. The area surrounding Duquesa boasts some of the best golf courses in Europe. Valderrama, which hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup is only 15 minutes away. La Duquesa Golf, Country Club & Spa is only a 5 min walk. La Duquesa Golf Course is a typical Trent Jones layout, demanding concentration and straight driving. The course winds around El Hacho Beacon Hill overlooking the Mediterranean to Africa. At the wonderful 17th hole, just 129m tee to green, but 30m straight down, you should beware of the wind, especially if the Poniente is blowing from the west. Details: 18 holes Par 70. Buggy and clubs hire. Hand cart rental, Restaurant/bar leisure facilities in clubhouse.
Travel
45 mins to both Malaga and Jerez airports. 20 mins to Gibraltar airport. Hire car recommended, we can suggest good suppliers at all locations.
Distances
Casares, a beautiful white washed Andalucian mountain village is 15 mins by car. Spend the day experiencing a traditional Spanish 'pueblo'. Ronda is only an hour away by car and is one of the most distinctive and beautiful towns in Spain. It is split in two by the El Tajo gorge. The bullring is the oldest in Spain and worth a visit. Gibraltar is only 25 mins away, don't forget your passport to cross the border. A cable car runs to the top of the rock, where you can meet the Barbary Apes.

The Marina at La Duquesa has a variety of great bars and restaurants, as well as gift shops, DVD hire and internet cafes. Several large supermarkets are within a few minutes drive, the largest being the Carrefour in Estepona with everything you'll ever need and more! Puerto de la Duquesa has a variety of great bars and restaurants, as well as boutique gift shops, internet cafe and a bakery. It still manages to retain some of its true Andalusian charm.
Manilva is a few kilometers inland from Puerto de la Duquesa and is well known for producing sweet wines. It holds a celebrated wine festival in September each year. In the autumn you can stop to buy grapes or raisins from the locals by the roadside. The town has a history dating back to Roman times and today you can still visit the Roman Sulphur Baths and Aqueduct.

Dates will be held for 72 hours to enable flights and car hire to be booked. Deposit 25% of total balance. Remaining balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to departure. Payment can be made by cheque, bank transfer or Pay Pal account. £150 refundable security deposit to be held until safe return of apartment. Baby cot and high chair can be hired for your stay. Prices on request. We just ask you to bring your own cot linen.

We had a fantastic holiday at the Duquesa Village apartment. The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We stayed with a small child and you had even provided plastic cups and plates. Everything was clean, tidy and in good working order. The standard of the furnishings
was excellent.
The poolside area was clean and safe and had a covered area which was great for little children to play under in the hot summer sun. A car is essential in this area as the apartment is at the top of a steep hill. Dequesa port is only 5 mins away in the car, and is full of great places to eat and drink. Enjoy your holiday! About the owner
Hi, we are Michelle and Alex. We live in England, but count Spain as our second home! We try to get out to our apartment at every opportunity. We have made some great friends in Spain that we can't wait to see whenever we get out there.
We enjoy dancing, especially Rock n Roll, which clearly shows from some of the artwork in the apartment - it's not every day you get to sleep with Elvis! If you also enjoy dancing, there are several venues in the area offering lessons in salsa & modern jive and dinner & dance evenings.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We originally bought our apartment so that we would have somewhere familiar and child-friendly in the sun, within easy reach of the UK...but we have gained so much more! Our apartment is spacious, comfortable and a real 'home from home'. We love taking walks along the beach, eating freshly-caught fish at our favourite chiringuito right on the beach, exploring white-washed villages in the mountains and, oh yes, enjoying the year-round warm climate!
Whilst set up to cater for tourists, Puerto de la Duquesa manages to retain its true Andalusian charm.
Our apartment has the best of both worlds. We are just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto de la Duquesa to have total peace and quiet, but at a 10 minute walk away, we can get in on the action whenever we want it!
Unique benefits of the property
Our apartment is in a private complex with 5 full-size swimming pools, one of which is directly beneath our sun terrace, together with a baby splash pool, set in landscaped tropical gardens. The pool area is fenced all round, meaning that you can safely leave your children to play, whilst still keeping an eye on them from the sun terrace.
We have a tennis court on site and we are 5 minutes away from La Duquesa Golf & Country Club, a 5 star hotel with a fantastic award-winning Thalasso spa, useful if you are a 'golf widow', or for a special treat!
Our apartment is well stocked with contemporary DVDs, board games, books, magazines, children's pool toys and inflatables. We even provide guide books and maps of the Costa del Sol to help you plan your days out.
