Notes on accommodation
There is heating in all rooms - just in case!
A big ceiling fan in the lounge diner.
Suitable for couples and families. From Jan 2007 there is a new fully fitted kitchen. May 2007 new bathroom.
Large enclosed terrace. Safe for children.

Accessibility
Wheelchair friendly as all on 1 level. There are 8 steps up to the property and from then on everything is on the flat. The twin bedroom has the best access for wheelchair users. A good width of all areas.

Outside
Lovely south facing, enclosed terrace, overlooking avocado groves and Nerja. The sea is also in view with the mountains as a spectacular backdrop. Table and chairs for 5. 2 sunbeds, with cushions. Barbecue and awning. Baby palm tree and geranium pots. Trailing bougainvillea to finish off a lovely relaxing terrace.

Coast/Beach
5 minutes walk to Playazo, or Banana beach as the locals call it. Sunbeds avail with big comfy cushions.3 euros per day. Many other beaches within a 10/20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive.
Burriana is 5 minutes drive where you can have Ayo's famous giant paella for Sunday lunch. Pennoncillo beach 5 minutes not so commercialised and great value, fresh sardines etc for lunch.

Golf
15 minutes to Baveria golf course. 2 other courses 20 minutes drive.

Skiing
Skiing is possible in the Sierra Nevada from November to April just 2 hours away. Good for beginners and intermediates, only 2 black slopes, but enough for 1 days skiing. Great value.

Special interest holidays
Due to the quality of light in southern Spain, many painters have used our property as the views are lovely to capture, either on canvas or camera.

Travel
Malaga is a 40 minute drive.
Car hire is not needed, but recommended if travelling to mountains or little Spanish villages.

Distances
Frigiliana 10 minute car drive, beautiful white washed village with quaint shops and lovely views.
Hypermarket 15 minute drive El Ingenio with other designer shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants. Cinemas etc
Caves of Nerja in Maro 5 minutes drive.

Further details
Nerja is an ideal holiday destination with something for everyone. With it's pretty winding streets and white washed houses. The main area of the town is the Balcon de Europa, where holidaymakers and locals alike meet to enjoy the views with a refreshing drink or two. There are many excellent restaurants and bars many of which offer alfresco dining.

Booking notes
£75 deposit per week is required to secure your booking and a returnable security deposit of £100 will be required along with the balance 8 weeks before departure. It will be refunded following receipt of the keys and confirmation that no loss or damage was caused to the property or it's contents.

About the owner
Hello, we have owned our lovely house Casa Palma for 6 years now and manage to visit Nerja about 3 times a year. I currently run a part time theatre school for 4-16yr olds and am an after dinner speaker on 'Behind the Scenes of TV Quiz Shows. Our girls aged 20 and 21 now do their own thing but for 5 years enjoyed holidays to Casa Palma with us and made many friends around the pool and at the clubhouse. Simon, my husband enjoys the peace and quiet when we are away and it gives us both the chance to catch up on books, scrabble and chess and have a sociable evening at the bar/restaurant. We usually hire a car to go up into the mountain villages and local markets, although you can get around to the beach, town and local restaurants by foot.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Nerja has a fantastic microclimate and we bought here because the weather is really mild in the Winter and the quality of light is good. The complex is quiet and very handy for the beach, 3 mins walk, town 25 mins along beach and the pool, 1 min. The local beach in particular is secluded and beautiful with tropical vegetation and comfy sunbeds. Over the years prices have gone up however food and drink is still cheaper than England and you still get double g n t's for the around 3 euros. We are only 1 hour from Granada and have also been skiing in the Sierra Nevada which is around 90 mins. Our neighbours who live there permanently are a lovely Norwegian couple and the bar is a great place to go in the evenings for either a flamenco show, quiz or cabaret.

Only 3 mins to beach. 25 mins to Nerja. 1 min to pool, with shade and sunbeds.
