This beautiful penthouse apartment is built into the side of a mountain providing stunning wraparound views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Located in the relaxing and welcoming village of Guejar Sierra, a traditional spainsh village with cobbled streets, a town square and a handful of tapas bars. From here the historic city of Granada and its Alhambra Palace can be reached in under 20 mins. The ski slopes of Sierra Nevada can be reached in approx 25 mins (sooner when the new road is completed in 2007). The beaches of Costa Tropical can be reached in approx 50 mins. Stunning walks of all levels begin literally at the doorstep. Other activities including horse-riding, mountain-biking, canoeing, fishing and paragliding are also available. If you prefer a more relaxing break it is easy to spend the day visiting the bars (many of which still honour the tradition of free tapas) in the village and watch the world go by. Or you can relax on the large terrace and admire the views.

The apartment has a large outside terrace with stunning views. There is a table and two benches. There are also two loungers. The terrace is completely private as this is the top floor apartment with no neighbours directly adjoining.
Some of the restaurants have outside terraces and swimming pools which can be used by its summer guests.
Coast/Beach
Approximately 50 minutes drive from Guejar Sierra are the beaches of the Costa Tropical. The coastline consists of both long beaches and secluded coves all with a backdrop of some of the largest mountains in Europe.
Costa Tropical is much less developed than nearby Costa del Sol. You can enjoy the sun on one of the many beaches or for the energetic water sports include diving, windsurfing, snorkelling, sailing and windsurfing.
Golf
There are two golf courses in Granada and another is to be completed soon. The Granada Club de Golf is 18 holes and no booking is necessary. It is approximately 30 minutes away.

Skiing
The apartment is ideally based for skiing at Europe's most southerly ski resort-Pradallono, Sierra Nevada. It is approx 25 mins away.
Sierra Nevada, which means "Snowy Mountain Range", includes some of the highest peaks in Europe not to mention the highest concentration of peaks over 3,000m in the country. The Mulhacen, at 3482m, is Spain's mainland highest.
The ski resort of Sierra Nevada offers its visitors a wide range of facilities and a ski terrain to suit skiers & boarders of all standards.There are 70km of ski runs, 45 pistes and 300 snow machines guaranteeing snow on the slopes. There is also night skiing by floodlight!
As one of Europe's highest resorts it has a surprisingly long season and traditionally opens at the end of November running through to the end of April or even into the first week of May.
An important factor is that you are practically guaranteed sunshine throughout your stay! The resort is so far south the climate is superb for brushing up on your tan!

Granada Airport (with cheap flights from Ryanair and Monarch) is 35 mins away.
Malaga Airport is 90 mins away.
Almeria Airport is approx 120 mins away.
The village has a regular (and inexpensive) bus service to Granada city. Car hire would be recommended to fully explore the beautiful surrounding areas. Please enquire for value rentals.
The village centre is less than five minutes walk.
Further details
There are a number of local shops in the village including three supermarkets, a pharmacy, two banks and local artisan and craft shops. There are a number of wonderful and characterful bars and restaurants. Many of these have terraces to enjoy the views and and swimming pools for sumer guests to enjoy. There is a local campsite which has an excellent restaurant and swimming pool. It also has a childrens park and a number of other fun activities.
Granada is one of Spain's most beautiful and historic cities. The Alhambra palace is approx 15 mins away. A day can easily be spent walking around the grounds and admiring the architecture.

The apartment was beyond our wildest expectations, and far better than anything we have stayed in previously. The view from the balcony is stunning. We made it up to Sierra Nevada on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day - the children played snowballs on Christmas Eve, then on Christmas morning while the turkey was cooking we went up again so that they could do some tobogganing. I thank you for making this one of our best Christmasses, the attention to detail made all the difference.'
