The apartment is situated in the North of Spain, in Cantabria, in the municipality of Ruiloba but only 1km from Comillas beach and 1.3km from the town of Comillas. It is a brand new estate called Lagos Azules. Very close to a 9-hole golf course (Rovacias). Ideally situated for cultural visits to places such as Comillas, San Vicente de la Barquera, Santillana del Mar, Santander. The prehistoric caves in Santillana, Puente Viesgo and the newly opened Soplao Cave. 40 mins from Santander and about 40 mins from the Picos de Europa, hiking, adventure sports. Comillas has all the necessary services, supermarkets, doctor's surgery, bars and restaurants. It is also the site for the future Hispanic Studies in the Universidad Pontificie.

1 km to a family beach, Comillas, 4 km from the Oyambre Nature Reserve and its spectacular unspolilt beach. Surfing in San Vicente 7km away. Lovely white sandy beaches.

Several golf courses in the area, nearest is Rovacias, 1km - 9 hole, also Mogro 40km, 18-hole.
Travel
Airport - Santander (Ryanair) 45 minutes, Bilbao Airport 1.5 hours away. 45 minutes from Santander port (Brittney Ferries) or Bilbao (P+O). Bus from Santander (La Cantabrica). A car is recommended to visit the many sights in Cantabria, not necessary for the beach or Comillas.

Comillas is a very beautiful monumental town with a population of 2400 people during the year which practically doubles in the month of August with tourists, mainly Spanish.
The capital, Santander is a very popular summer destination and has several wonderful sandy beaches, a marina, cathedral and lots of shops and places to eat. We recommend you park in the Sardinero football stadium, follow the signs for the Sardinero and right at the end of the motorway you’ll see the stadium. This is where you will find the beaches. Then just wander around. It’s a very long city so it might take you some time to get from the beach to the city centre.
If you like fish and seafood then San Vicente de la Barquera is the place for you. A lovely small fishing town with a castle on a hill, and a really long sandy beach. Loads of great fish restaurants. Again 14km away in the opposite direction towards Oviedo.
Next to Comillas you will find Oyambre, which is a nature reserve with a long sandy beach.

Dates will be held pending receipt of 20% booking deposit (5 days). Payment of the deposit constitutes acceptance of the booking conditions. Security deposit on arrival of 300 Euros/200 pounds. No cheques or credit cards accepted. The security deposit is refunded at the end of stay once the apartment is checked. Good apartment and location for a family. The apartment is in a quiet new development, about 10-15 minutes walk from Comillas itself, which has good places to eat, cultural tourism and good beach.
Apartment itself is clean and confortable. Owner was very helpful with lots of information about best places to eat and visit.
The apartment is a good base from which to explore Cantabria. San Vicente de la Barquera (food), Altamira, Puente Viesgo (caves), Santander (shopping & beach) are all good day trips by car, if you don't fancy travelling far Cobreces and Santillana are very close.
Lee and Jackie, 15/Sep/2008 - This new apartment is comfortable and has been kept in really good condition with all the necessary equipment for a comfortable holiday. Located on the outskirts of Comillas the town is only a 15 minute walk away. The location is perfect to relax in after a busy day sun bathing or site seeing.
